Our last visit to this restaurant sealed the deal on terrible service. Although the sushi is pretty good, the staff and other entrees are not. After being seated and being pestered every 30 seconds if we were ready to order, I chose to order the steak and shrimp hibachi, medium well. We also ordered some sushi to go along. The sushi came out first with the standard soup and salad, that was all very good. Next came the entrees after about 20 min, mind you, there were only 3 other tables in there at the time. So when the entree came, what did I receive? The steak was medium rare and completely raw in spots. I waited and waited for our server, any server, to come by so i could say this. By the time anyone came, my family was done eating and they asked if I wanted it "reheated". I said no, I'm not going to make my 2 yr old wait while you cook the same meat some more and then feel hurried to eat when they're already done. So I simply asked it be taken off. She went over and what seemed like the entire wait staff looked at my ticket and the plate. 5 minutes later she comes over and said that they took off the steak and made it a shrimp hibachi since the steak was under. I then, irritated because i didn't eat anything except for the 3 pieces of shrimp, went to the counter and said I wasn't paying $9 for 3 pieces of shrimp. They all then convened again talking in japanese. She then said she'd take another $2 off and just charge me for a vegetable hibachi....at this point I was livid. I didn't eat any of the vegetables or rice because I was waiting for my meal to get corrected, when that took too long and she finally took my plate to the back for the undercooked steak, they kept it and still decided to charge me even though I didn't get to eat it. I made this point and she kept stating there was nothing she could do. At least if you take my plate and then say you're going to charge me for something, let me eat it or take what you are charging me for to go. But no, they felt it fair to take my uneaten food, after they messed up and then didn't check back after 10+ min, and still charged me for the untouched veggies and rice. Never have I ever in my years in the restaurant industry or as a patron experienced something like this. If you mess up someones meal and don't come check on them or make yourself available to be called upon for issues, then come when the rest of the party is finished eating, they shouldn't have to pay for a meal they barely touched and that wasn't right in the first place. I will never go back nor will I recommend it, with their barely understandable english and lack of courtesy...go back to your...
Read moreHave been here before and food was good. Service always just ok to me. Went today and had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Went there today specifically for the lunch special which is a good deal and ends at 3pm. Went there right after our movie at the local theater let out. Got in the restaurant at 2:50pm and was seated by 2:52pm. Waited and waited for a waiter and no one ever came. Saw some acquaintances two tables over and spoke to them for 5 minutes while still waiting for a waiter. Finally at 3:04pm a waiter shows up and we immediately tell him we both want the lunch special. The waiter then tells us that it’s after 3pm and we cannot get the lunch special price. Looking at the menu the plates jump up an extra $10 after 3. We tell the waiter several times that we got there well before 3 and hurried to get there after our movie let out specifically for the lunch special. The waiter doesn’t budge on the issue! I go speak to the manager behind the front counter. The manager then repeated himself over and over like a broken record that you have to get there before 3 for that special. I told him over and over that we got there well before 3 and he didn’t want to hear it! Really!!!?? The manager didn’t care less what me the customer was explaining! We walked out. Will never step into the place again! If google offered a negative 10 star for hospitality that’s what I would leave but an un-deserved one star is what I have to leave! The owners here should be happy to have a business and not treat customers this way! Every customer and every meal counts to make a successful restaurant. Remember that! I will tell all of the friends and family that have been to this...
Read moreLet me tell you, folks, I've been to some sushi places. From strip-mall sadness to pretentious overpricing, I've seen it all. But Mizu? Mizu is a whole different kind of fish.
First of all, the atmosphere. It's like stepping into a calming anime come to life. Think mood lighting that won't mess with your ability to identify the perfectly pink tuna, and waitstaff who are friendly without being overbearing. It's the kind of place where you can relax, unleash your inner weeb, and maybe even attempt a chopstick duel with your friend (though, for the sake of everyone's dignity, I wouldn't recommend it).
Now, onto the main event: the food. Let's just say the fish is fresher than my attempts at humor. The sushi rolls are like little flavor explosions in your mouth, each piece a symphony of textures and tastes. The salmon practically melts on your tongue, and the avocado? Don't even get me started on the avocado. It's like creamy, green perfection.
Speaking of perfection, their miso soup is a national treasure. Rich, flavorful, and with just the right amount of tofu, it's the perfect warm-up for your taste bud adventure. And their tempura? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with dipping sauces that would make a grown man cry (tears of joy, of course).
Look, I'm not gonna lie. Mizu ain't cheap. But let me tell you, it's worth every penny. You're paying for an experience, folks. An experience of freshness, flavor, and an ambiance that will have you saying "kawaii" before you even realize it.
So, if you're looking for a sushi experience that's a cut above the rest, fin your way down to Mizu. Just don't expect me to be your comedian there. Stick to the sushi, it's...
