I absolutely love a buffet, especially a Chinese buffet. The Eastern Buffet in Niles Ohio (by the Eastwood Mall) is one of my favorites. I like this particular restaurant because I’ve always had a good dining experience here. The Buffet is always well kept and clean, the staff is always tending to it. The buffet itself has a nice offering of popular Chinese “comfort” food as well as American comfort food. It has a nice salad bar, awesome dessert bar & sushi roll bar. Everything from the buffet is amazing tasty, there is something for everyone. I also enjoy how quickly you are greeted & sat at your table or booth. My waitress quickly got my drink order & directed me to the buffet. When I returned my drinks & silverware were waiting for me. She would come and check on me every few minutes to top off my drink or take away my dirty plates. I really enjoy dining here and will continue to enjoy a solid buffet experience. If you love a great Chinese buffet, you must give this place a try.

We generally avoid going to buffets late at night, near closing time, because the food tends to have been sitting for a long time and/or the selection is poor... We went to Eastern Buffet late, an hour before closing - I was a bit dismayed at the state of the buffet, as many of the items were empty, but the owner(manager?) told us that they would make anything we wanted that wasn't already out. So, what we expected to be a pretty terrible experience, turned out really well. We were happy with the selection and quality of everything we tried, and very pleasantly surprised at their willingness to accommodate late at night. Keep in mind, it is a relatively small buffet, but it has all of the standbys that you would expect from a Chinese buffet in the Cleveland/Youngstown area. Prices are very reasonable for the area and inline with other similar buffets.

One of my favorite spots when in the area. Waitresses are always polite and friendly, restaurant is always clean and food has always been fresh for my visits. They have such a great variety of selections. Some are orange chicken, general tso chicken, lo mein, fried rice, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, barbecue chicken on stick, stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, broccoli chicken, sweet n sour chicken, freshly made variety of sushi. Plenty if choices for dessert chocolate and vanilla pudding, bananas with strawberry glaze, cookies, cakes and an ice cream bar with at least 6 different flavors and syrup and fixings. Lots more. The prices are great and children are charged by age, and the location is too!! Only thing I wish they would add is egg foo young!!

We have visited this restaurant around 4 times over the last year. Each time, the buffet appeared clean and the food is regularly replaced on the buffet. We are seated quickly and given our water in a quick way (and people regularly come by to clear your plates).

Unfortunately, the quality of food is abysmal. The breading for the chicken (and other food) has so much sugar in it, it tastes like you poured maple syrup over it. The chicken used for the grilled portions come from very cheap cuts of meat (as is the fried chicken). The sushi is incredibly low grade as well (but I do not expect high grade sushi at Chinese buffets).

But when you go their "Mongolian grill" or mini-Hibachi, there is seldom anyone there. The raw chicken, which was out for us to put on our plate for the stir-fry, was frozen solid (a giant block of frozen cuts of chicken). I waited for about 8 minutes for someone to take my plate. People passed by (servers, cooks) but no one said anything to me. I finally had to leave my plate with the food I had wanted to have stir fried.

The desserts (save for the jello and ice cream) are very low grade quality. Today, I visited the restaurant for dinner and my wife noticed that a kid took the ice cream scoop and licked it-- and then put it back. She told a server about this. No one did anything about it.

When I paid the bill, I complained to the manager about these things and he simply shrugged. No words for me.

This restaurant seems popular and there is not a lot of competition in the general vicinity (for Chinese buffets). If you do not care about the quality of food and the germs, the price is reasonable (12+ is about $10). But I cannot recommend such an establishment for their clear disregard for hygiene, low-quality service once you are seated, and low...

My fiancé and I came in 2.5 hours before close thinking that we’d have a hot meal and some sushi. We get in and sit and order drinks and surprise surprise, there’s legitimately 3 pieces of sushi, all of which weren’t held cold enough, one being mangled beyond recognition. Ignoring that most of the food was empty with no plans to refill it, we took what we could and sat to eat. The crab rangoons have just enough imitation crab in them that you can’t call them out on false advertising, none of the shrimps are cleaned during prep and the digestive tracts remain. The dumplings were rubbery and inedible. More than a third of their available selection was just desert foods. I would not pride my business on being a sushi and hibachi restaurant when I don’t offer hibachi and offer sushi as an afterthought. Never visited without a stomachache the next day. If you’re looking for good all you can eat Chinese food, visit Fortune Star buffet in Butler. Same price and significantly higher quality. For all you can eat sushi, I recommend Sushi Bomb in Robinson. Pricier, but a jump in quality for sure. To finish out my review I’d like to note all the wait staff. For the server who found it absolutely necessary to clean my table with diluted bleach while I was eating (an hour before close, mind you) you deserve no explanation for why I didn’t finish that plate. I’ve visited many times in the past and tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but enough is enough. TL;DR: Don’t eat here unless you like poor service and overpriced food poisoning. Meijer in Boardman is a better value for sushi, and anywhere else will provide...

The employees need to have better etiquette. When the man who owns or runs the restaurant is not there or is off for the night it seems like the staff has an attitude problem towards some customers. Last night me and my fiance wanted to be seated somewhere else in the restaurant we just wanted a nice quiet family dinner. We asked to be seated in an area where nobody was sitting. The hostess or lady at the front counter tried to seat us somewhere else and we respectfully declined she rolled her eyes at us and sat us where we wanted to be seated .. when we went to leave and I WAS PAYING FOR OUR MEAL I asked her if she could throw my receipt out she doesn't answer me and slammed her hand on top of my receipt so I grabbed it and left. Your employees need to be more polite towards your paying customers I've never had an issue in the 20 or so years I've been coming to your business NOT COUNTING the last time I reported one of your waitresses for disrespecting my fiance as he was finishing his meal looking into his dish seeing how long it would take him to eat and then speaking in your native tougue about him. Trust me I know what you said . I will not be returning to this establishment . Its heart breaking for me to write this post . I hope your customer service...
