Boscov's — Local services in Niles

I visited this store last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by not only the vast selection of goods but also how professional and courteous the staff was. I am definitely going to return to this store but I wanted to share just one critique that would seriously improve this establishment. Enclosed is a picture of a Caroline Cart. I attached it because I am a full-time caregiver to my mom with dementia. Prior to discovering this cart I would take my mom shopping and if she rode in a motorized scooter, I just had to turn my back for 5 seconds and she was gone! It made shopping a very exhausting chore when I would take her until I found that this cart is in multiple establishments across the country, including in our local area. If you were able to get this cart, I would be able to take my mom with me on shopping trips and ensure her safety. Target, which is also a business in the mall has this cart. If this business was able to provide this cart, it would not only benefit my mom and me, it would benefit multiple families with parents or children with special needs. Beautiful store! The store has nice lighting, extremely organized, full of inventory, but they are missing the boat on one the most important factors... the check out process. More than once I have been in this store and have struggled with checking out. Floating checkout stations do not work. Learn from Disney, block "all exits" with checkout counters. You must have at least one register at all exits so when people leave like me they can check out. At times it can be hard to find your checkout stations and it's frustrating! I left, went to Burlington Coat Factory and purchased the same thing where they have a checkout line at the exit. I would not take the time to tell you all this if I thought you're store wasn't nice. Spend the money and move your registers and keep at least one person stationed there. I rarely shopped at Walmart because of their long lines. Love this place! You can find everything here. Their shoe selection is great. Their plus size women's selection is the best around. I got a great deal on a microwave, coffee pot, cups. The only negative thing I can say is that there was this younger red-headed gal during their shoe sale that was absolutely awful with me. She was so nasty with me, 3x she encountered me with such a terrible attitude that I ended up leaving so angry I was almost in tears. I don't usually let people get me like that but it was like she was going out of her way to be snotty. I am sure she was having a rough day as it was during a huge buy one get one 1/2 off shoe sale...but She didnt need to take her day out on me. I will certainly avoid her at all costs in the future.
