After a fantastic evening performing with our band at the Eastwood Baseball Field in Niles, Ohio, we decided to wind down with a meal at Bob Evans, located conveniently nearby. Given our hunger and the need to relax after a high-energy performance, Bob Evans proved to be the perfect choice for a satisfying meal.
Arrival and Ambiance: We arrived at Bob Evans around 4:05 PM, and the restaurant greeted us with a warm, inviting ambiance. The interior was cozy and clean, with a rustic charm that felt both homey and comfortable. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and quickly seated our large group, which is always a relief after a long day of performing.
Service: Our server was prompt and attentive, despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy. They took our orders efficiently, and we appreciated their patience as we reviewed the menu. It was clear that they were experienced, as they navigated our group’s diverse preferences with ease. Throughout the meal, the service remained consistently friendly and helpful, which added to our positive experience.
Food Quality and Variety: Bob Evans is known for its hearty, home-style cooking, and this visit was no exception. We started with a range of appetizers, including the famous Bob Evans sausage gravy biscuits and a variety of soups. The biscuits were wonderfully fluffy, and the sausage gravy had a rich, comforting flavor that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The soups were equally impressive, with the chicken noodle and the loaded baked potato soups receiving particular praise from our group for their rich, flavorful broths.
For the main courses, the menu at Bob Evans offers a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes, and we indulged in several of them. Many of us opted for their signature dishes, such as the country-fried steak, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The mashed potatoes, a staple at Bob Evans, were creamy and well-seasoned, complemented nicely by the hearty country gravy.
The farm-fresh omelets were a highlight, filled with generous portions of fillings and served with golden, crisp home fries. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the flavors were well-balanced. For those of us craving something lighter, the garden salad with grilled chicken was a great choice, offering a crisp and refreshing break from the heavier options.
The dessert menu at Bob Evans was tempting, and we couldn’t resist trying a few selections. The pecan pie and chocolate cream pie were both outstanding, with the pecan pie featuring a delightful, gooey filling and the chocolate cream pie boasting a rich, velvety texture that was the perfect end to our meal.
Value for Money: In addition to the quality of the food and service, the value for money at Bob Evans was excellent. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable given the quality of the ingredients and the overall dining experience. It’s clear that Bob Evans strives to provide a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
Overall Experience: Our post-performance meal at Bob Evans in Niles was a memorable and enjoyable experience. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and a comfortable atmosphere made it the perfect spot to unwind and celebrate after a successful show. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Bob Evans offers a reliable, comforting dining experience that’s hard to beat.
For anyone visiting Niles, especially after a long day or performance, I would highly recommend stopping by Bob Evans. It’s a place where you can count on great food and a warm, welcoming environment—a true testament to the enduring appeal of classic American...
Read moreI went to this particular Bob Evans because I've been to others and really enjoyed the experience. That was not the case here. I didn't get to eat here. After my experience at this one, it'll be a long time to never before I give this one another try. I was ignored at the front for so long that another customer came up and demanded the pick-up cashier seat me because I had been patiently standing there for a ridiculous amount of time. The cashier promptly snapped back that it wasn't her job. Apparently, her job is to socialize with other employees, make change for them, etc. She appears to be above trying to help actual customers. However, she did come up to me after the other customer called her out. She slammed the menu on the podium, all the while fussing at me for being a bother to her. I informed her that I hadn't said one word to her or anyone else who worked there and that I didn't bother her at all. She ignored what I said and just kept fussing at me. I finally had enough and told her that she couldn't pay me to eat there. The only reason I waited as long as I did is because of the fact that due to some dietary restrictions I had very limited options as to what I was allowed to eat, and I knew I could find something that was acceptable. I ended up going somewhere else where I didn't have to be ignored or wait for 10+ minutes to either be...
Read moreNot sure about these previous reviews, perhaps there was a change in management. Went with my wife on a Friday at 8 am. We eat out about 10 times a week, so we often rate restaurants we go to. The place was immaculate. We spoke to a hostess, waitress, and a manager who were each the epitome of professionalism. The coffee was excellent and the waitress left the carafe. The food was quick, hot, and tasty. The waitress was prompt in getting our order and in bringing it to the table. She also without asking replaced our creamer which came in a small serving decanter. The manager stopped at our table and asked if there was anything we needed, and chatted with us briefly answering all our questions. We were offered coffee to go free of charge. The price for two coffees and two full breakfasts was reasonable at $22. It is clear who ever is running this place knows a thing or two about service. The cashier was friendly, and when I asked about buying a baked cookie to go suggested a 4 pack for the price of the one cookie I was going to buy. I took her advice and ended up buying the 4 pack. The best breakfast service I've...
