Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia — Local services in Norfolk

Walking to the store and I asked the manager if they were hiring she said if you go on the website, you can go to every store and apply that is not what I ask you. I ask you if you guys are hiring so why on earth would you tell me to go on the website and find out who is hiring? I have absolutely had it with Norfolk this place is a joke trying to find a job around here and either you’re not good enough you’re not black enough to get a job around here. Also, just wanted to say that this is the absolute worst I mean worse stores that I have ever been in. They are way over priced and they do not have a good selection of clothes at all. My first time going in there I could not purchase anything because of the overpriced items. Not only the overpriced items every time I walk in the Goodwill the only thing I’ll see is junk. Went to find cool weather clothing such as sweaters. There were dozens on racks in the store however a rude employee informed me that they weren’t for sale today. This apparently was due to the fact of the $1 Monday sale and the 50% off blue tag sale. Nothing else in the store was very suitable for the season. I also noted that all prices were uniform regardless of quality. I’m sorry but $6 for a tshirt is fine if that T-shirt is decent quality and in season. The same price for out of season and stained or holey items is not ok. It was also next to impossible to find my size I am a small or extra small. The employees and environment made me feel most unwelcome and I left very soon after deducing I wouldn’t find anything of worth there. I would never recommend goodwill. Check out CHKD or Salvation Army as good alternatives for thrifting clothing...

The store's overpriced items are laid out for the convenience of the employees, not customers. Whoever decided that piling men's and women's clothing into the same areas, irrespective of gender or size, should be taken out back and shot. The apparel is hung by color, and that makes it easy for the employees to put the items on the racks quickly. But this method makes the shopping experience infuriating for the customers. The bathroom was supposedly out of order and you couldn't use the facilities. This store wants your money and promises you an awful and overpriced shopping experience. Why? Because...
