Like many others in the reviews, we visited several local jewelry stores before discovering Diamonds Direct. We were almost ready to make a purchase at Gold City in Rockville, but their unprofessional attitude were off putting and unpleasant, so we decided to keep searching. If you're on the hunt for an engagement ring, I highly recommend giving Diamonds Direct a try. While you may not find “the one” immediately, I can assure you that they will do everything possible to help you find the perfect ring at the best price. A special shoutout to Mr. Gregory Blatt (Diamond Expert) and Mr. Bryan Ames (General Manager) for their outstanding assistance in helping us find "the one." Here are some highlights from our experience:

Customer Experience: From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff and immediately attended to by Greg. He made us feel comfortable, and we were even offered beverages while we browsed. Unlike other stores that don't offer seating, Diamonds Direct provides a pleasant seating area where you can relax and take your time.

Expert Guidance: Before showing us any diamonds, Greg gave us a comprehensive introduction to diamonds—explaining what to look for, how to evaluate quality, and outlining the benefits of shopping at Diamonds Direct. The level of transparency and education they provide is unmatched. As first-time buyers, we had many questions, and Greg was incredibly patient, taking the time to walk us through the differences in diamond grades, cuts, and colors. He even physically showed us various diamonds of different grades so we could see firsthand how these factors impacted the appearance and value. This hands-on approach really helped us understand what we were paying for and made the decision-making process much easier.

Customization Options: If you're on a tight timeline, they have ready-to-go rings, but they also offer customization if you have more time. If you find a ring from another Jeweler that you like, you can give them the measurements, and diamonds direct will try their best to price match for you to get earn your business.

Competitive Pricing: As savvy buyers, we know that pricing can be a deal-breaker and sometimes makes the entire shopping experience confrontational. Unlike other jewelers who often inflate prices and claim to offer “sales,” Diamonds Direct stands out with its unique price-matching policy. If you find a similar diamond with the same grading and size at another store, they will price match it. For the level of service they offer, I expected the prices to be inflated like a luxury brand, but we ended up purchasing a custom engagement ring at a very reasonable price. You can choose a straightforward, premium shopping experience with a set price, or if you're willing to do a little research, they are happy to price match and earn your business.

Maintenance Services: Many jewelers either charge excessively for a ring and offer "free resizing, rhodium plating, and side diamond repairs" or sell a more affordable option with no maintenance services at all. Diamonds Direct strikes the perfect balance, offering lifetime maintenance and repairs (except for the center diamond). Although we haven’t yet tested the service, the promise of lifetime care was an important factor in our decision.

In the end, we purchased a custom-made ring at a great price, and it arrived ahead of schedule. While it looked great, it wasn't perfect, but as Bryan, the manager, said, "We’re not happy until we see a smile on your face." After sharing our concerns, the team made the necessary adjustments, and just two days later, we have the perfect ring. Thanks to Greg and Bryan, we found "the one," and now she refuses to take it off. Time will tell if the service holds up, but I’m confident Diamonds Direct will continue to deliver. BEWARE!!! Go to any other location but not the Rockville location!! We purchased my engagement ring (big natural three stone) wedding band (thick natural diamond band), and my husband’s wedding band (thick solid 24 k) from the Virginia Beach location, and that location is fantastic!!! The service was great and quality products and help. However our experience at the Rockville location was horrible both in service and quality. First the creepy and ignorant salesmen there do not listen. We had to repair and resize my wedding band and engagement ring. The prongs were loose on the big stone of the engagement ring, and one stone fell out from the wedding band. Both were just a tad too tight so while repairing we wanted to resize up from a 4 to a 4.5. The first guy would not let me try on the sizing rings myself(important yo make sure I can get them on and off myself as I am the one wearing the rings), and kept trying to put lotion on my hands in a way that was just creepy and ick. Then wouldn’t listen to me at all and put me down for a size 5 with giant sizing beads. This was not what I wanted but he wouldn’t listen, so we tried it. Lo and behold this was horrible!!! The sizing beads scraped my knuckle so bad it bled and now over a week later still hasn’t healed because it was that bad. Then another guy started helping and wouldn’t listen to me that I wasn’t concerned about my ring spinning so I didn’t want sizing beads. I only wanted to be able to take my ring off without extreme force that would be bad for the ring, and the sizing beads didn’t help that. The sizing beads made it even harder to take off and left me with a bloody knuckle. So we asked them to please remove the siding beads and make it a 4.75, which was looser than I wanted but doable. Then that second guy goes ok we’re going to keep it at a 5 and just remove the beads. My husband and I looked at each other because we couldn’t believe it. The 5 was too big (falling off my finger) without sizing beads) and he even agreed it was too big. Still seconds later he’s trying to put me in a 5. We finally come back again to pick up the ring and now the revised wedding band is wonky. It is 1/5 inch wide around the sides and only 1/10 inch around the base. It is super thinned out and wonky, net even a smooth taper! It’s horrible!!!!!!!!! Avoid the Rockville location at all cost. If we hadn’t purchased our rings at a different location we would never have bought any of them from this store. We would have walked out and used another jeweler. There are so many good jewelers and good places to buy diamonds around DC and this Rockville location is NOT one of them!!! I love jewelry and this location is definite not where we will buy it from. Too bad because the residing was on my birthday, and had the sellers been helpful and kind it would have been a great time to pick up something extra for my birthday, but definitely not from here either their horrible service and quality. Following the purchase of my Rolex, my girlfriend and I returned to the store, and now she, too, is captivated by the allure of Rolex watches and is considering an engagement ring from the store.
