Staff extremely nice but very poor policies in place for checking in.
X-Rays are walk in appointments only. When checking in at arrival, the policy is to check in all appointments first before walk ins. Since there is no ability to schedule x-ray appointments, I just sat there as they kept checking in more and more people who came in after me. The other person and I who had also been waiting for an x-ray to be checked in went to discuss with the woman in charge of delegating who is checked in and she was not helpful at first. She told us we should have scheduled an appointment, when we told her there are no appointments for x-rays she said that was correct. We asked her to clarify how we can schedule x-ray appointments if they do not schedule them and she said that if we were insistent enough, they would have scheduled one for us, which is ridiculous. Eventually after waiting 45 minutes I was checked in. There were no people on the check in list wanting x-rays before me.
In addition, to schedule an appointment in person you must also sign in as a walk in. A woman came in behind me to schedule an appointment and I saw her finally being schedules when I was being checked in. Which means also waiting for at least 30 minutes just to make an appointment.
I had to also make an appointment for an additional procedure which I knew about when I came in. I told them at check in and they responded that I needed to do so after I had my x-ray. After my x-ray came out I was told to sign in and sit and wait to schedule. I left, I was not waiting that long again just to make an appointment.

As usual to get an appointment you have to wait for several months (one only wonders how we diagnose cancer timely in their preposterous system). The earliest appointment they could find for the diagnostic tests due to the lump were 1.5 months away in our great metropolitan area.
It has had been a staple of Hopkins service to have apathetic, unhelpful and often rude staff. When I have called to ask them (after a very prolonged wait) to fax my referral I was yelled at that they are not faxing services. There was absolutely no compassion, care, or even hint to try to help a patient who is in the medical office and really depends on them to get their procedure finally done.
I was quite shaken by yelling angry (not clear why) person on the line. Maybe those who don’t want to do customer service should not be allowed as they try to air out their frustrations on innocent people?

   Read moreI had a great experience with the medical imaging here! I'm extremely anxious when it comes to MRi's and CT's so I went in a bit on edge. Every single staff member was lovely, professional, and extremely educated. This was my first CTA and I felt properly informed on everything they were doing from the IV, to the contrast, the CTA machine itself, and when to expect my results. Additionally I have had past sensitivity to iodine and they took this very seriously and made me feel extremely safe. I regret not remembering the names of the techs and nurses because everyone I saw today deserves a huge shout out for their care. During the CTA, the tech checked in with me to make sure I felt okay and was very clear about what to expect once she gave me the contrast which was helpful to know ahead of time.
The front desk staff were equally as warm and professional from the gentleman when we walked in, to the lady who checked me in. The waiting areas and facilities are extremely clean which is also huge.
