I patronized this store in North Fayette, PA (100 Quinn Dr.) yesterday (4/1/25) and had the worst experience I have ever had in a retail establishment. Hallmark cards are the most expensive in the industry - so I would think that their customer service would be above and beyond to compensate. The sales representative was unhelpful, dismissive and rude. The Marjorie Bastien display had been completely removed to make way for another vendor per the sale rep - (this had never happened before in all the years I've patronized this store). The sale rep said there might be a card or two mixed in with others and proceeded to stand 15 feet away from one section of birthday cards with the statement that "she might be able to find one there even though it was like looking for a needle in a haystack". She then said, "I don't see any - I'm sorry" and walked away. She didn't offer to go in the back and bring out a couple of the cards from the storage boxes (like sales personnel had done in the past when they had already boxed up Rosh Hashanah cards that I was trying to purchase). (I was the only customer in the store, so it wasn't like she was busy with other patrons.) I also asked if I could redeem a birthday coupon since I was at the store the night before at 7:30 based on a google search and yelp notation that the store closed at 9 pm (which it had for decades), only to find a sign saying the store now closed at 7. The sale rep said she would ask her supervisor in the back. She came back out and said, "I'm sorry we can't" and walked away. When I checked out I politely informed both ladies at the register (the one I had been talking to and her supervisor) that I had been completely disappointed with the service and treatment and would never shop in the store again - even though I had patronized the store for decades. I asked for the name and email of the store owner and was given the store email on a post-a-note and verbally told (after having to specifically ask) that the manager's name was Beth. Was not given a business card (which I asked for) with the manager's name and email. I would not recommend that anyone patronize this store for any reason. This store used to be one of the best in terms of operation and staffing for as long as I can remember - until relatively recently. This experience was the last straw. I have spent a lot of money at this store over the years - it saddens me to see what it has become. It is not worth even one star...

I left and called the store trying to find out when my ONE item could be picked up. Read moreI am a regular shopper at Laurie's Hallmark, but just today I tried returning a damaged box of chocolate pretzels and I was refused a refund. The box of Sarris pretzels I bought had the plastic bag ripped inside and the pretzels were stale. The purchase was less than 90 days ago, with receipt. The pretzels were not passed their expiration date. There is a guarantee on the bottom of the box that they can be refunded, but I was flat out told "NO you cannot return candy" but the manager. ...
