My children, mother and other family decided that we wanted to eat here for Mother's Day. To our shock they served everyone's food on paper plates and plastic utensils. Even the sangria was brought out to me in a clear plastic cup and a little less than half full. The first sangria I ordered had so much ice filled to the top rim of the plastic cup with whatever frozen fruit chunks in it. Needless to say that the ice is what made the drink appear filled at least to the rim of the cup. I ask the waiter if I could have another one with no ice and he brought me back the amount I'm holding up in the picture. I ask him if it was possible if I could have my cup filled with more sangria and he said "no" the bartender has it that way and walked away without asking me if I wanted another drink or anything. I did not want to argue the ridiculousness of the amount of sangria in the cup or the unprofessionalism of the waiter in front of my children so I continued talking with my family.
After we ate I ask the waiter privately if he could take off half of the sangria cost because of the amount given and poor communication about "pre made" amounts that I knew nothing about. He said he could not and I asked for the manager. The manager came over and she began to explain before really hearing me what they give in portions etc. and did not really want to hear what I was trying to say. She then said "I will pay for the drink and take it out of MY check on Mother's Day!" as if to try and guilt trip me and began to walk away. I said to her "excuse me", you will because it will not be taken from us. She then said "I'm not going to do anything now", and walked to the back. My family was looking in disbelief and discussed. We will NEVER eat at that location again and hope that the managers and staff are trained in better communication/de-escalation and...
Read moreWe always have gone during dinner and have had a good experience, but I went during lunch yesterday and will not be doing that again. I ordered the Taquitos Rancheros, and they were just a tad bit rounder than a #2 pencil. There was no taste, and barely any meat in them. When the guy brought it out, I couldn't even see them beneath a mound of shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes and sour cream. I said, "I'm not for sure if this is the right order - I ordered the taquitos." Annoyed, he said: "they are under the lettuce." My guest had a taco salad, and they remarked that it was very bland. It had shredded lettuce as well (you know, the cheapest type of lettuce you usually get at cheap burger joints). After both entrees and some tea, the order was around $30. My suggestion to them is as follows: Your lunch "specials" are too pricey. Your competitors are killing you in both quality and price. That's why at 12:30 yesterday, your restaurant was almost empty, and why when you go to somewhere like "Senor Tequila's" down the road, they are packed. You can order much larger and tastier meals over there and get out at $20 with tip for 2 people. Really, I would encourage the owners to visit other places and compare their food & prices to yours. Here's one last suggestion. My food took 20 minutes just to come out of the kitchen. People are on their lunch break and don't have time to wait. There is no reason why 3 tiny taquitos (throw them in a deep fryer) and some rice (pre-made) should take that long to cook, and it definitely shouldn't cost over 8 bucks for what little food I got. I am giving you 2 stars for fresh tea and the...
Read moreWe went to Santo Coyote a few months ago. We wait for several minutes to be seated. That would have been fine had there been other in front of us waiting. None the less we waited. After being seated we waiting again for 10 minutes before our server came to our table. Red Flag...should of left right then but we stay because we had heard the food was good. Our server, while kind, was extremely negligent in her service. Chips ran out, drinks glass empty, salsa out, etc. We ordered the guacamole which was excellent. Our wait for our main meal was 34 minutes. Poor, poor service.
Now today while we were on that side of town we thought we would try them again for a late lunch. I'm always willing to give a place a second chance. We walked through the door and no one was at the front to seat us. I thought, here we go again. We waited for 5 minutes. No one showed. A server in the dining room saw us standing out front and appeared to go to the back to get someone to seat us however no one showed. Needless to say, we walked out never to return. While driving away we decided to call and talk to the manager. We thought perhaps management didn't know that whomever was supposed to be at the front wasn't doing their job. I know if I was a manager I would have wanted to know. A business can't endure too many people walking out or they don't last long. So, we call and don't laugh...after 10 minutes on hold we hung up. Go figure..
I absolutely can not recommend this restaurant. Service is absolutely horrible. Food is good but if you choose to go be prepared for a long, long, long, wait and...
