I dropped off my Ipad, which had the screen shattered from where my child had stepped on it. It didn't have any cracks on the outter edge of the screen but the inner screen was completely shattered. I dropped it off for a new screen and was told that it would take 2 hours to fix it, so I walked around the mall for that time. When it was time to pick it up after the 2 hours, it was not fixed and we were told that the tech needed a special tool to finish the repair. Upon arrival several days later, after being told that our Ipad was fixed, the screen was not properly placed, the besal was broken all the way around and we had to leave it there, so a wasted trip of an hour drive one way, and we left it there to finish being fixed. Before we left, I spoke with a new tech, who didn't know who had worked on my ipad and who was knowledgeable, in reguards on what needed to be done. I called 3 weeks later after not hearing back from them, was told that they tried to call me twice, but left no voicemail. I was told that the back of my ipad was warped and had to be put into a defended case for the screen to be secure in my ipad. Upon arrival, I was told that the new tech had to completely redo the work on my ipad, yet he didn't know how the back case got warped, yet it was not warped when I dropped it off. He was able to sale me a defender case for $20.00 after I paid the $130.00 plus tax to get the screen fixed. I was told constantly that he didn't know weather the tech or I had warped the metal back of my ipad, which it was not warped when I dropped it off. Also, during the time that they had my ipad, they have changed every staff member in this store. I am not happy with the way that I was treated, or how they "fixed" my ipad, being that they caused more damage to it, than what it had when I brought it in. I was told that its hard to tell when the warping happened, but being that I am a tech myself and could have done better myself, I know that it was not that damaged when I brought it in the store. Was a long wait for repair, watched him replace batteries in both phones and heard him tell us that the heat straps that keep your phone from overheating and in place were, " just there to annoy and phone didn't need them". We believed him, as he said he was one of the only certified apple fixers. We continued to watch him fix phones, he dropped the back of mine in the ground hard! Picked it up like nothing happened and continued on. Once the phones were rung up and given to us we immediately began to have issues. Sons iPhone home button was sticking so he ran it back in, it continued to stick so we ran it back the next day. We live 2 hrs away from store so it's not just a jump in the car. Later in the week I found that my earbud outlet wasn't working and had been fine before taking in. Made another trip only to have him tell me I must have broke off an ear tip into it???? Any possibility you lodged a broken piece in there when u dropped it? He did not go through the phones system before and after to ensure everything was working like others there had. A couple weeks later my sons phone died- won't charge, turn on- nothing. I called the shop and of course they said bring it back. Well I said no, I gave you ample opportunities to fix and the phones getting worse. I sent it in to iresq Where they found the phone was lacking heat strips to keep battery in place and keep it cool- ultimately destroyed a brand new battery. Read moreI would like to prefix my review by stating that this does not outline the quality in personnel at IFixandRepair. However, this is my outlined experience, and distaste for IFixandRepair as an organization.
Prior to my repair service, I called the store to ask for pricing. I followed up with asking if services can be price matched, and was told that it it can be met.
Once arriving to the store, I proposed the price to be matched, and was told that the store cannot match a screen replacement from Apple. (Pricing is listed on the Apple Website). They were able to accommodate a little bit regarding price.
The screen replacement was quick, and possibly took less than half an hour. I immediately noticed that the screen brightness was mild. Unfortunately, I did not have time to walk back into the store due to my intense schedule.
A week later, I began to experience complete screen blackouts, along with unusual battery drainage. This is when I began to do my research. I do believe that the screen is of a much lower quality. One that does not feature the Retina display that comes with iPhone 6s. I also believe that due to the quickness of the screen replacement, there may have been some sort of shortage that affected the battery.
Ifixandrepair, does offer a warranty. However, they clearly print a "absolutely no reimbursement" clause on their receipts. A clause that in NOT mentioned beforehand.
I would like to formally request a full reimbursement, to have my phone repaired by more qualified individuals. WITHOUT the lack in product...
