Blown. I came in to get a very small run of custom shirts for the company I work with for a tradeshow we were set to vend at. Honestly speaking the woman at the front desk was short and judgmental, specifically after showing her the custom design I made. (It had a skull with a deer jaw on it and some distressed text with the name of the company) After I explained I do graphic design work for a haunted house prop fabricator and dark artist, she made back handed comments including āhow could somebody even like that stuff?ā When in talks of getting the shirts, I originally wanted screen printed shirts and made the design as such, but I was also very thorough in saying I wanted an all red design. We settled on a different process for producing the shirts, I paid and left. A week later I got the call saying my shirts were ready. When I went to pick them up, the design was all grey; not red like I had specified. So I gave the other woman a Pantone as a guide for what red I was looking for, and was told it would be fixed right away. I got an email a few days later confirming the design before it was sent to be produced, and it still was not what I asked for. The shade of red and the fact of it needing to be all red. It looked as if it was my design was painted over digitally, there were specks of grey bleeding through the image very sloppily. I resubmitted a PDF and Adobe Illustrator file with the exact color and finished size, even doubling down that what I sent it what it needs to be, and this was later confirmed by Hometown Threads. I come in a few days later to get my shirts and they are still produced wrong, and the design also looked like it was warped as it was printing. I pleaded with the man at the desk that it needed to be how I sent it in the email, come to find out they used the file they tried to show me earlier in the chain that I told them not to use. Frustrated and running out of time, I told them I needed them in 3 days and no later, which they agreed to meet. 2 days later I got the call about my shirts, I came and the first woman I spoke to was there, greeted me and immediately wanted to ālet me knowā that my ādesign was grey the first time I sent it, thatās why it was produced that way and not redā very sharply. This is true, however I did reinforce that āI made it grey so you can make the negative out of it for screen printing, but we decided on a different process for production, which I still confirmed 1 color: Red with that process tooā she then proceeded to make sure to show me the file I sent being grey on her overhead tv projection, which was a funny exchange considering she opened the most recent file that was the correct all red look I sent and they still messed up. After she got her gratification of proving to me something we both understood very well (my first design was grey to make a negative) she gave me my shirts and I left.
The design looks pretty close to what I asked for. The printer looks like itās not totally aligned so thereās some faint white leaking around the edges of the design. Thereās a waxy film across the entire front of the shirt, specifically only around the chest area where the design was printed, maybe itāll wash out?
Overall I am not very impressed and was put off tremendously by the customer service of the place. Iām guessing if you just choose their local school designs they have premade and ready, itās probably safe but I wouldnāt trust sending them another custom order after the 3 week hassle I endured.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI frequently use Hometown Threads for embroidery work for my business. Don't get me wrong, they do good work when they get to it. The last 3-4 times I needed something done I was told it would be completed by a certain time and then was told a day or two before pick up that it had to be moved back a week or two. Their customer service is terrible. Stopped in today to talk to the person who was to call me back by 2:00 pm , never returned my call, it was 3:00 pm when I arrived. Was lied to about a situation that occurred earlier today. I could not get an answer to a simple question about that situation. They both lied (the owner and manager) and played ignorant. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They both were very rude and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStarting a business and called to get information about services that was not available on their website. I must say that the lady that answered the phone on Sat afternoon took the call like she was at home. Simply "Hello" no business name nor offer of her name. First Impression is EVERYTHING! I greeted and informed her that I have questions. She suggested that I call on Monday to speak with Manager. She said they were busy with walk ins and only 2 people working. Not good customer service at all. How about, can I take your name & number and will contact you when it slows down and apologize for the inconvenience. Sorry but not sorry. We will gladly keep searching for a business that wants business....
