Update: Always my first stop fresh off the plane when visiting Michigan for the holidays. I can't imagine Northville without Tuscan. The thoughtfully crafted coffee drinks, the incredible food and (most importantly)what makes the business shine...the owners and incredible staff...all make this cafe far more than a destination for a quick caffeine fix. It's rightfully a community staple. So excited to see how much they've grown year on year. Here's to decades to come!
Prior Review: I've been stopping in to Tuscan Cafe for a few months now before my morning walks. I order the ca-----rdamom latte that's served at the perfect temperature (not too hot, not cold). The pairing of cardamom and coffee? Divine.
This establishment also offers some of the kindest service around, and that's not lost on me. The pandemic has been a real beast for all of us, but business owners that are able to keep such talented and service-oriented staff...that's a whole other level of difficult at the moment. Tuscan cafe seems to be doing it all right, serving up incredible coffee and delicious eats, making it look like an easy task.
Yesterday, I tried my first sandwich (Porchetta) and it was just as delectable as their coffee beverages and pastry offerings.
All-in, I'd say that giving Tuscan cafe a try is in your best interests. It's a beautiful little neighborhood joint with ample seating space. Read moreI had the worst experience dining at this cafe that I've ever had. We ordered a latte flight and the drinks were not good. The London Fog taste very bland, the Tiramisu Latte was overly thick and the Butterfly Pea Flower Matcha was gross. We barely took a sip out of each cup, we just sipped enough to taste each one. This flight cost $36. We asked to speak to a manager and a lady, Dawn came to our table and said "What's wrong with your order?" We replied, "We do not like the flavor of the drinks, they do not taste right". Dawn replied "What would you like done?" We suggested a refund and she replied "Why, you can't just return something because you don't like it". Then proceeded to tell us the other table loved their drinks. To throw that in our face was the icing on the cake. We asked to speak to the owner and the owner dismissed us. He never came to our table to address the issue. We sat there for an additional 30 minutes while the owner serviced other customers and never came to talk with us. Mind you the diner was not extremely busy during that time. We never received a refund or an explanation as to why we could not get our money back or be accommodated. Read moreWas treated very rudely by the lady / manager during my last two visits. Not customer focused cafe. First visit I accidentally thought my google credit card was charged twice. When I kindly asked confirmation she was immediately very arguementive that I even questioned her and the charge. Regrettably, this am July 4th I give the cafe another chance during my daily 2 mile walk I stopped at the shop for a cup of coffee. I went to the back entrance since I had to tie my dog up and there was no area near front of store to do same. I accidentally went in the store (empty at the time with exception of employees) thru the back door. This same lady proceeded to literally yell at me saying I came in thru wrong entrance and to turn around and read the sign (cant you read?). While I was putting my mask on and tying my dog up, I evidently missed seeing the one way sign. If you want to be rudely treated, talked down to and pay very high prices for basic bakery/cake products this is your place. Sadly, I want to support local businesses and this store years ago WAS customer focused (my reason for trying the store again & giving THEM a second chance).
