My wife had purchased a few inexpensive Oriental plant stands and they were on their last legs. I started looking for quality replacements on the Internet because I do not drive and it is difficult for me to get around. I found Oriental Furnishings and became intrigued. Their selection was amazing. However, most importantly was their reviews. Every one I read was favorable or better. (Yes they can be better than just 5 stars) I decided on 2 rosewood plant stands and a rosewood coffee table but I wasn't sure if the colors matched. So I called their phone number and spoke to Bill. (who I later discovered that he was an owner) He couldn't have been nicer. He listened to my needs and put me on hold to check if the colors matched and if they were still in stock. Within minutes he returned with "yes" to both questions. I had asked if it was possible to have the items delivered into my home since I am 69 years old and disabled. He said he would arrange it but it might take 2 weeks. I said fine and I was very satisfied. He called me the following week and said they could be delivered in 2 days, a Friday. That was fine with me. At approximately 11:00 am an SUV drove up to my home. It was my furniture. The gentleman knocked on my door and asked if I was expecting a delivery. I said yes and he started to bring them. I told him that Bill, who I spoke to on the phone, was a really nice guy and extremely helpful. He then introduced himself as Bill. He told me his driver didn't show up today so he drove from Connecticut to Long Island to deliver my furniture. Without me asking, he unpacked and checked everything to make sure they were ok. He even removed the packing material. I have to say, they were beautiful. The colors were perfect and I couldn't be happier. In this day and age it is very rare that you find someone that is so considerate and caring of others. My entire dealings with Oriental Furnishings was fantastic and I highly recommend that you look there for you Oriental furniture and decorating needs. You will not be sorry. If you remember, in the beginning of my review, I said a company could be better than 5 stars. Now you understand why. The two Warriors Trunks that I ordered are absolutely amazing! So beautiful! Not even a scratch on them. They arrived unscathed in absolutely perfect condition inside, outside and delivery was fast. They are solid and very well made. I consider the warriors trunks as pieces of art. The trunks were expertly packed. So much so I probably spent over an hour outside removing all the wrapping. The team at Oriental Furnishings did a fantastic job. I did not realize that the trunks were that big or that nice based on the images on their webpage. They are a really good size and look gorgeous! This has been one of the best buyers experience I have ever had thanks to you and your crew. I canโt say enough about the customer service I received Oriental Furnishings from start to finish. It is incomparable! Everything went so smoothly and quickly. I am so impressed! One of the trunks will be seen by a lot of people and I am pretty sure they are going ask were I obtained it. Of course I will direct them to Oriental Furnishings. Great top notch people there. If you are looking at ordering this trunk or any other Oriental furniture, art, antiquities, hard to find Oriental item.... etc. do not order any items anywhere else. Order from Oriental Furnishings. ย ย ย Read moreI recently purchased a Chinese lacquered end table for $490. I was surprised that it arrived with damage/defects on both sides and the front because it was so well packed. Before contacting the owner, I had a furniture repair professional look at it and he advised me not to accept it. The owner was friendly when I later spoke with him, and blamed the issue on an (now former) associate who shipped out the already damaged unit from their stock. I agreed to send back just the door (which had the worst damage) and planned to make the other cosmetic repairs myself. For agreeing to this (saving $160 in shipping for a replacement) I was told I would receive touch up paint and markers as well as a discount for my troubles. The door arrived yesterday. Masterfully repaired but with a piece of the Mother of Pearl missing (found it in the packing). Also no touch up materials or discount as of today. What to think? A series of unfortunate events or maybe just a story told to placate a customer with a problem? You decide. Me, I plan to make the repairs I can and share my story with others. I canโt recommend them but would tell anyone who had shipping damage to insist on replacement. Not planning to call them back but maybe they will see my review. But Iโm not holding my breath...
