My wife and I have been going to this location for a couple years now. I purchased her engagement ring and wedding band from them.
What I want to highlight is that each time we tried working with the store, theyâve provided incredibly ugly settings on my wifeâs ring that were set way too tall to justify.
At first we complained and after a long explanation from the store manager on how it looks beautiful (even though we were complaining it looked horrible, apparently her saying it looks good is enough) eventually some other person in the store told us our request was possible and he made sure it got done.
A couple years later we returned to upgrade our stone. First, the store did not contact us once the job was finishedâ we had to call them weeks later to find out.
When we picked up the ring we were devastated to find the setting was set incredibly high again. We explained the issue again and were told that nothing could be done because this was the âindustry standardâ. We tried showing them photos of competitors, but they said the stones were smaller, even though the example photos we selected were specifically the same size. Attached is one of the comparisons.
However what was most infuriating about this experience was that when the person we were working with escalated to the same store manager we worked with before, she was maybe the worst customer service representative either of us have ever worked with.
Instead of trying to provide us with options, she spent the entire time convincing us how she thinks it looks beautiful and that we should agree with her opinion. Whatâs worse is she then tried to sell us earrings to go with the ring we werenât happy with, even though my wife was visibly upset.
We spent thousands of dollars at this store and theyâve completely mistreated what would otherwise have been lifelong customers, due to their horrible service and management. We went in to purchase my wedding band and I had no idea what exactly I was looking for. Hiram helped narrow it down, while another woman tried to bring over other rings while mentioning that she didnât think I would like them but wanted to bring them anyways. We finally settled on a band only for the woman to try to convince me to stay a half size smaller than what I needed because âIâd lose the baby weight eventuallyâ. Completely inappropriate to even mention your customers weight so props to her for that winning personality. We mentioned needing the ring by 8/29 as we were getting married on 8/30 and we were assured that we could get it by then. Hiram mentioned putting a rush on it which the lady informed him not to do. Lo and behold, itâs 8/29 and the ring isnât ready yet so I will now be getting married tomorrow without my wedding band.
When purchasing my band, they did a cleaning and inspection on my claddagh ring and ended up knocking out a diamond. No big deal. We brought it today when we went to pick up my band (which weâve received absolutely no communication about so we figured it was there). When I informed the man working that they knocked a diamond out and I needed repairs, he glanced at it and asked if I was seeing things.

   Read moreMy husband and I went to the Norridge location to drop our rings off for cleaning and was informed I needed new prongs on my ring. We have lifetime warranties on all rings. Unfortunately there was a issue because they are updating their systems . Which is a good thing. The gentlemen who took care of us spent lots of time with us to try to rectify the issue, very kind and apologetic. The issue was that the warranties didn't show because of Helzberg updating and I didn't have my paperwork . This associate and the manager fixed the issue and processed the inspection and repairs on the rings. I told them I would bring my receipts and paperwork in when I return. I was very impressed that the customer service they gave was above and beyond, took so much time with us. Showed concern and kindness for the consumer. There is no customer service no where anymore. Since coming to this location for many years we always had a wonderful experience with the staff. The manager and associate who took care of us were the best. This is what keeps us going to this location. The Managers name is Elina and the associate was Alex. These 2 are amazing and greatly appreciated all the time and kindness they gave us.
