My daughter has been at Cheer Advantage for the past three years. The owners are incredibly dedicated to their gym, their athletes, their cheer families and the sport of cheer.
In response to another recent review...
Competitive cheer is an expensive sport with a huge time commitment attached. All of the cost and details of the season are provided on the contract you and your child sign prior to the start of the season. If you do your research, all cheer gyms in the surrounding area, are all in the same ball park in terms of cost and services provided to their athletes.
My daughter was also supposed to compete at the recent Six Flags competition and while the whole situation was unfortunate, to say the least, it was at no fault of Cheer Advantage. All decisions regarding delaying , cancelling and thus not having the Cheer Advantage teams compete, because of the weather, was made by the Go...
Read moreMy daughter had fun, but I was turned off by what I perceive as a lack of communication and organization. When my daughter got hurt at practice, they didn’t inform us. On competition day, the coach (or owner?) repeatedly reminded my daughter that it’s fine if she wants to skip some stunts due to injury (that they neglected to tell us about), but stated repeatedly that they will have points taken away by judges. I felt like she overemphasized this last part, which my kid felt as pressure to ignore her injury. I got the sense that they didn’t want to talk to me whenever I had questions or concerns- as if I was bothering them. It’s expensive. Be prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars for a few months of cheer. Overall my daughter enjoyed her cheer experience, but this particular environment felt toxic and unpleasant to me. Your...
Read moreMy daughter has been a part of Cheer Advantage for 8 years now. Her growth as an athlete, teammate, friend and as an all around person is so impressive. She has advanced in her tumbling skills year after year. She’s learned to adapt to new situations and work well with others. These are both skills that have transferred to all aspects of her life. From a parent’s perspective, the dedication, hard work, and overall confidence she has learned is so valuable. From a kid’s perspective, she’s achieving goals and most importantly, having fun! We have made lifelong friendships at this gym and look forward to making more memories with...
