Took our 8 yo son for a "Pokemon Tournament", staff was nice though most often preoccupied. Several of the adult players were inappropriate in language and behavior at such event with young children. Staff didn't seem to notice or attempt to correct or set guidelines for this. At one point, an adult launched a card in the air, hitting another young adult girl in the head across the room while playing in tournament. Girl was obviously concerned and a bit hurt, it looked. The guy/man that did it, laughed and acted as though he didn't do it even going to his buddies and telling them while laughing. Word travelled around the room eventually to the girl's (possible) bf, to which he went to the back of the room and confronted the man. It was REDICULOUS! This could have caused a fight right there with kids and families in the room OR could have really hurt someone. Staff never became involved/noticed and we're more involved with friends/participants than working. As parents..my husband and I agreed that it was NOT a place we will be taking our kids to again. Not to mention, the "Pokemon Tournament" was a free for all basically with no standard limits and decks rediculously over-built. My son had fun playing, but we will never take him back to this establishment unless management changed...
Read moreCame here at the end of my disney vacation to fulfill my magic needs. Its 15 mins away from MCO and the fellas here were super cool. Their prices are really fair. Felt I paid market prices for their sealed product. Came out with a Kamigawa Commander deck and a few packs. I love how they clearly show you the price of the packs. I asked which of the commander decks they would reccomend playing and they gave me Buckle Up from Kamigawa Dynasties. The two gentlemen where going off how much fun this deck was and I love the Kamigawa set anyway so it was a win win. The price was exactly what TCGPlayer put as the Market which i found out when i go home. It made me more happy.
The place has tables for play and to open up sealed product and even take the time to sleeve your cards. The place has refreshments, sells singles, sells pokemon, Mtg and flesh and blood. Selection of accessories are abundant as well. Its a clean place to boot with game mats on all tables. When i come back to Orlando, i def will be...
Read moreGreat selection, and plenty of events such as tournaments but... That's the only saving Grace to be honest. The atmosphere has steadily declined since opening, to the point where if you're not a TCG player, you might as well not even show up. They like to advertise as a boardgame friendly place, with tables reserved for tabletop games and everything.... But that's extent of it. As soon as it's clear you're here for board games, the attitude of the employees changes. They're more concerned with talking amongst themselves about the latest anime news than checking out customers, and I've overheard them literally making fun of me and other customers behind the counter when they think we can't hear. When somebody hears "look at that guy, he's playing a game by himself," or "oh great, a board gamer," it really affects your desire to buy your games here...
