Purple Moose Saloon — Restaurant in Ocean City

I googled "gay bar's in Ocean City" and this bar popped up. I thought I would give it a try to see what it was like. Its on the boardwalk near a few other bars which are exciting and I was eager to see what this place offered. I was incredibly disappointed and downright upset at my experience. It was my first time and I will probably never set foot or recommend this bar to anyone.

There was a $10.00 cover, which is reasonable for a bar. I gladly paid the entrance fee and was able to with my card, no issue. The bar was a fully stocked bar with, in my opinion, reasonably priced drinks. The lines moved quickly and the bartenders were friendly.

The reason I had a bad experience is that I was standing in front of the stage listening and jamming out alone, and not bothering anyone. At one point, I guess being the loner, I had a bouncer come up to me and tell me I was being asked to leave because I was bothering people. I hadn't had a single conversation with anyone and was shocked. I didn't even bother with asking as it was quite clear this visitor from out of state (Florida) was clearly unwelcome in a rather 'welcoming' environment.

It was obvious I was alone and the rest of the bar was full of people who were together. So I dare say, if you are alone and want to just enjoy some time alone, maybe see the local scene and enjoy a drink, bring a friend. You are not welcome alone, and if you are part of the LGBT+ community, go elsewhere. This place is the complete opposite and not...

Visit 4/25/25 Decided to try this establishment again and yet again we were disappointed. The staff was rude, and slow. They were not busy yet we had to wait almost 5 minutes to be served. We were one of about 10 customers at the bar. Once we got our drinks, we lost the server to the back room. We sat with an empty beer for over 5 minutes. So we left.

Visited 10/2024 Horrible experience. The staff was rude, the locals there even more so The staff if they had knowledge of the beers on tap did not offer to share. The male staffer would not look at us when taking our order as he was too interested in the Game on TV. They certainly did not stop back when our beers were empty to see if we'd want another round..needless to say, we left It was to be a pet-friendly establishment however the female bar staffer made rude comments about the doorman allowing us to bring our dog in. We will be visiting OC again next weekend and the purple moose is NOT on our agenda or our bar crawl list. I would save my money there are other more human and pet-friendly...

As long as you don't have a problem with their service and complain about it, you're good. Asked for a mixed drink, got it, it was weak honestly. Tasted borderline virgin. Asked for a stronger drink to which the bartender (without missing a beat) dumped the drink and made a new one and handed that to me and telling me that it was weaker.... Bro, I'll take the stronger drink then. Idk how anyone would think that a weaker drink is the answer to a weak drink but idk. We tried to complain and the manager wanted nothing to do with it. In fact, he dismissed our concerns completely.

Long story short, as long as you're the person who can be ok with anything or any kind of Service (good or bad) this is the place for you.
