WORST customer service ever.

I just tried to return a $30 item bought two days ago without a receipt. No Problem? I have an account that goes back some 20+ years with ACE, and 7 years at this store. They can just look it up, right? .

Two different employees couldn't find the sale. They told me that the item was last sold over a month ago to someone else. Apparently I lied and their system held the truth. For an under $30 item, the Owner "Logan" decided to intervene. He made no effort to look up the sale and wanted to escort his now angry customer outside to talk. Outside he was more interested in having the last word than resolving the problem, or doing the right thing. He didn't even verify if he was in fact right. No Refund, No Way. Unless I had a receipt, even though it was in fact their merchandise.

Problem solved? I went outside and found the receipt on the floor of my truck. Rudeness however continued. It was obviously their mistake. They even found the sale in the system after I walked out, and had apparently already posted the refund.

When I went back inside and asked for Logan, a totally new gentleman stepped up and did not want to admit that I was right in the first place. When I pressed, he chose instead accuse me of lying as a 7 year customer because this ACE wasn't here 7 years ago. Gee, just look at tjhe 7 year old reviews oinline. He called the police to tend to his now angry customer even though they were in the wrong. He banned me from ever shopping there again. Logan tried again to get me outside to talk and even tried to physically "nudge" me out.

In short, Their system was wrong. I was treated rudely in the extreme for an error that was in fact their's. I recieved absolutely no respect when they found their error. Their "appology" what there was of one was mockingly insincere. I will never shop here again. Home depot is cheaper and almost as close. Logan is young and IMHO inexperienced with no reguard for decent...

I was in dire need (for the 2nd time) of fixing my Traeger. Last time it turned out to be the hot rod, this time it seems to have been the controller. Both times this ACE's staff were beyond helpful, went above and beyond, took my unused parts back that I didn't need. They actually worked through my problem with and never once push me to buy a new Traeger (which are all over the store.) Sisto and David were both two of the employees that helped me on these multi day projects.

Aaaaand I have learned unfortunately this ACE is one of the last one's left... the other closest (one to North County) is now Fallbrook! This is sad. Home Depot and Lowe's advertise these parts but do not carry them. I needed this fixes on same day otherwise tons of ingredients would have been ruined. This is also my goto place for bolts, as HD and Lowes are pretty bad on selection (HD being atrociously bad at stocking bolts and Lowe's is a bit better.) Phenomenal job Ace Hardware in O'Side!

(PS. Not a well known secret that there is a pretty big, almost never full parking lot that is designated as being OK for ACE customers - past the alley behind ACE you can park at when the street...

Logan went above and beyond to assist me with verifying stock on a hard to find reverse osmosis fitting, I am really impressed with the service I received to say the least.

I have an injury where I cannot drive for a little while and I planned to send my wife to the store to get this part. As any husband knows, sending your wife to the hardware store is kind of a gamble. Best case scenario there is a strong probability you may not end up with the correct parts. Worst case scenario, frustration or a potential for an argument could be the end result.

Thankfully, Logan was able to locate the part, and set two of them at the counter with my wife's name on them, which completely alleviated any potential for mishaps. Logan even went so far as to use his personal phone to text me an image of the part to ensure it was correct, it was correct, he knows his stuff. This young man deserves a raise, the customer service I received was far beyond the call of duty and there is no way you would get this kind of service at Home Depot or another big box hardware store. A+ Logan and A+ to Oceanside Ace...
