You can find the most unbelievable treasures in here if you come regularly and are patient. But some people coming in have the haughtiest aire about them ..... considering they are truly dumpster diving (if they’re being honest with themselves). It’s like they want the ambience of Neiman Marcus or something but pay less than flea market prices! LOL. Most people who donate literally open their trunks and just DUMP stuff without folding, cleaning, or separating it, and the employees have to put out thousands of items almost instantaneously every single week. They never stop.
The other thing is, don’t be condescending and pretentious when you are looking for bargain basement used items that were destined for the trash if not taken there....and ESPECIALLY when 1) you are trying to make a handsome profit reselling them on EBAY 2) passing them off as more expensive gifts or 3) trying to fool everyone with pennies on the dollar appointments for your home. Yeesh. Be real!
It is the original outlet store, but you have to be real about where you are and what you’re walking into and that you are going to have to work for your treasure! That’s why it’s such a great feeling when you DO hit it and find that gem in the landfill. I have gotten a lot of really cool things, but I knew where I was shopping!
It’s supposed to be fun but NOT LUXURIOUS. If you want a high end retail experience, get out your wallet and go to the mall.....Oh wait, they’re all closing! LOL.
And all you people refusing to wear masks, get a life. It’s not that much to ask. Stop abusing and messing with the poor employees who are just trying to do their jobs and follow the...
Read moreToday I was in Goodwill listening to an exchange between a store manager and a customer. The man had come in hoping to return an electronic device he bought there and they would not refund his money in any way. The device was broken. The manager explained to the man that it benefits the company not to test any of the products before they price and shelve them because that way if they are broken they still make money. She said it's not their problem "he bought a broken product." Even though, they are accountable for selling him a broken product. Thirty-four dollars he said he paid. They got that item for free. I thought he was going to cry and I comforted him saying he had a right to be angry and that the same thing has happened to me in the past. A couple of minutes later I opened a chess set priced at 1.99 to see if all the pieces were in the box and I noticed the wooden board was broken in half and shoved back into the original box.
In the check-out line, the ladies in front of me were laughing at the five-dollar brown paper surprise bags because we all know they are full of junk that the store couldn't sell. It's just a last-ditch effort to make money off of scratched DVDs and other broken stuff that should be tossed.
So I continued on to pay for my things and the clerk asked if I wanted to donate the remainder of my change to "the cause" but could not explain to me what the cause was.
See the trend? This company has no honor, no respect, and no decency toward its customers. Something should be done to protect the consumer from Goodwill's...
Read moreRidiculous prices! As said by many other reviews here. Unreasonable. Other than that would be a pretty good thrift store. Lots of clothing and usually pretty organized. I don't know about the employees they seem to not care very much or not know. Drop off system always works easy and fast. Hours in winter are pretty short. I often end up with nothing because the prices are just too much and I am sorry I would like to at least help somehow so that the store can cover expenses but this is not a good deal ... Lots of parking available. Bathrooms and drinking water available. Would like to see more furniture and bigger stuff. But the most important: adjust those prices and make it a real thrift store and not and expensive store of used products. Only sometimes worth it for certain finds and with half off coloured price tags. Also o often find products with no price at all and go ask on the cashier and they just I've me.any not caring ridiculous price. Happened to me on a backpack o was really needing and wanting and the woman in charge just coldly said, 14.99 because it seems to be a nicer one after not even really looking at it and just guessing and not caring, so I said, ok this is too much I wish it would cost as little as all the other backpacks over here on sale for backpacks around 5. Which was a wonder that it would be a reasonable price. Anyways. Not cool. A bit rude. Same with a keyboard I asked of it would work there wasn't even a cable so it was a luck game if it would and how I would find a...
