Service can be lacking at times (even when slow) However They're kind, clean, family friendly but have quiet sections available most times, and the food is almost always spot on! You know to achieve all of this you have to have a staff than can pivot on a dime. Now to the food - My favorite is the Trifecta w eggs poached medium well, crispy bacon, waffle with melted butter & a hot water with lemon. ~The lemons are always so fresh and clean. ~Coffee is coffee unsure of what bean they use, however it can sometimes be full of body & spot on - all the way to bitter/burnt (I find if I go after noon that's when I have had that experience) ~Good poached eggs are difficult to be able to reproduce each time, but the kitchen staff here knock it out of the park 100% of the time! ~Crispy Bacon - succulent and melt in your mouth. ~I used to get the Chicken Apple Sausage and too many hard pieces (like fat and tendon) were in the patty ~Waffle is proper crispy but not warm enough to melt the butter, so I ask for melted butter (just a preference of mine so I can make a butter syrup lol) ~Blueberry Muffin has a great crumb, berries have a nice pop to them, with a slightly crunchy sugar top.
Seasonal: ~Pineapple Express juice - Refreshing! Pineapple juice with a nice light coconut flavor, wish it came with a lime, sugar rim elevates this drink - currently in season - try before it's gone! (6.1.25) ~The B.E.C. - Crunchy sourdough deliciousness with a slight zing from the Calabrian Chili w/roasted garlic aiolis, the greens pair nicely with the richness of this sandwich, can be for 2 people, also in Season currently! (6.1.25) ~SoCal Breakfast Hash - it's a lot of food and 3 people can eat 2 tacos each. The lime is imperative to bringing this dish alive. Beans cooked well, nice amount of sweet peppers, Chicken tender and juicy. It's a nice and hearty...
Read moreAvoid a middle-aged server named Lisa if you decide to bring your children into this establishment. She made it very obvious children weren't welcome in her section. Repeatedly skipped checking on our table. Short one-worded answers. Never asked if the food tasted olay. No eye contact. And at one point, she even apoloigized loudly to a table of regulars at the table next to us for being sat by kids... When our children politely colored on their kids menus and kept quietly and neatly to themselves. I understand people have bad days but when she was helping a table of 4 gentlemen next to us, she was laughing and carrying on. Seeing she did have a personality, it made it hard to stomach our family's treatment.
So, for my husband and I who both have 10+ years in the service industry, Lisa's service was appalling. And slightly humiliating. We chose this First Watch location for my son's 8th birthday breakfast thinking it would be like any other marvelous experience we've had.
My advice, don't get sat in Lisa's section with children. I will be sure to never sit with Lisa if we decide to come back to this location.
The meditation drink was amazing but the hollandaise on the Eggs and Benedict seemed flavorless. I won't order the Eggs and Benedict again, but think everything else served tasted wonderful. Oh, and when the other staff members ran Lisa's food and drinks to us so she could avoid us, they were...
Read moreIf this had been my first time eating at First Watch I probably wouldn't return. We definitely won't return to this location. We ordered donut holes and asked our waitress to bring them first so we could share them. When part of our breakfast came still no donut holes. When we asked the server what happened to them she said she'll have them out in 5 seconds. They didn't come out for about 8 minutes. We told her we didn't want them any more and to please take them off the check. The food came a little bit at a time. The bacon was cold. When my wife and I finally got our pancakes they were luke warm which doesn't make sense since we had to wait for them. My wife's pancake was dark (too well done). Our waitress never came back to see if we needed anything or if I wanted more iced tea even though my glass was empty. When she finally brought the check she had forgotten to take the donut holes. By the way most restaurants would have left the donut holes and taken them off the check. But they took them back after we said we didn't want them any more. No apologies. We never had a manager follow up with us. As I said at the beginning if we hadn't eaten at several First Watch locations many times we probably wouldn't return. Very...
