Bucks Spices and Teas — Local services in Olympia

Tried to stop in to this store in search of some spices. I was with my six year old son who is in a wheelchair. When I got here I found that a structure had been erected in the doorway and my son’s wheelchair couldn’t fit through. So I stood and opened the door to ask about the spice I was looking for and the boss told her assistant to look for it and then told me to step inside and shut the door. I told her simply that my son was in a wheelchair and his wheelchair couldn’t fit through her structure to get in and instead of an apology or a understanding gesture to at least make me feel welcome she told me to step outside and shut the door. Her assistant was nice enough but I will never return again if this is how customers with disabilities are treated. There could have been a nicer way of handling things instead of telling me to shut myself and my son outside without as much as a please. Won’t be returning. Bad enough not to be able to access the inside of the shop but to be told to stand outside and shut the door. Not a way to make your disabled clients...

Bucks Spices and Teas store came highly recommended for the quality of their products, I ordered Salep powder from them while very excited, the shipment arrived as promised and from France directly. I love Buck’s so much! Every time I go in, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they really know their stuff! They have some spices that aren’t common in major grocery stores and it really helps me because I love cooking Indian and Thai food. They always have black cardamom which is a must for making garam masala from scratch. They also have flavored honey, pastes, mustards, syrups, preserves and other flavor bombs to add to dishes.
