Nov 2023 My sister and I came here for dinner with a group that booked a private room. A staff member at the podium directed us on where to go. The private room was in the back, past the kitchens, and to the left up some stairs. It was warm and cozy with a lower, black ceiling and partially exposed brick walls. The overhead lights were adjustable and mostly kept at a dim setting for us. I had the feeling that possibly adding fairy lights could add an outdoor feel. The tables had been arranged into a U-shape, with plates, utensils, and glasses of water already set up around the table (enough for 20 people).
The bathrooms here are also all the way in the back, but turn right once past the kitchens. Continue straight until the hallway opens up (or widens, however you say it) and the men/women bathrooms will be on the left. The doors have code locks, but seem to be kept unlocked during business hours. These are multiple stall bathrooms and seem to service more than one business. The women's bathroom had 3 plus a handicapped stall (but no automatic doors). The bathrooms were clean and dry.
Our waiter was very friendly, talkative, and informative. They told us about the specialties and gave recommendations on the food and drinks. The pot pies are the main dish here, made from scratch and freshly baked when ordered. They were very organized when taking orders, delivering food, and knowing who got which check. They were also attentive when refilling water and whenever a new person arrived after we started eating (there were a few stragglers).
A note on the desserts. I'm not sure if it's different in the main dining room, but our waiter gave us our dessert options verbally, instead of on a menu. The desserts aren't listed on the main menu or online either. Either way, our options were a brownie, buckleberry pie (a mini 3-4" pie instead of a slice), huckleberry ice cream, creme brule, and a spongy cheesecake.
All of the food was delicious, a good quality and quantity for the price. The pot pies are big, maybe 9" and come freshly baked and steaming. An interesting observation around the table was that the roasted broccoli was REALLY good and tender.
Overall, good food and good service....

Read moreMy husband and I were looking to do date night and came across this restaurant while looking up potential places to eat at last night and we're so glad we gave this place a shot! The restaurant had a great atmosphere to it, our waitress Heidi was really nice and patient with us since it was our first time, and the food was amazing.
We were seated immediately and given an opportunity to choose where we'd like to sit. As we explored the menu, Heidi was very informative and helped us with deciding what we'd like to eat. My husband and I shared the braised pork poutine which was so good; the fries came with so much pork and it had just the right amount of seasoning. I ordered the Alaskan Cod tacos which were HUMONGOUS and my husband created his own burger with a beast patty (made with bison, elk, wagyu beef, and wild boar -- so flavorful). Our meals were very generous on portion size and incredibly tasty.
Something that caught us off guard was their "scratch kitchen" fee that they'll tack onto your bill (they disclose this at the bottom of their menu, I meant to read more about it but got distracted and didn't remember it until it was time to pay). It only added $5 more to our bill, my husband shrugged it off and left it as is, but if this is something you wouldn't want to pay into there is an option to opt out!
Despite the extra fee and tight street parking, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out! We'd love to return here again...
