As a single mom, trying to dress my kid can be disheartening when I walk into children’s shops and see the prices. Moonchild PNW in Olympia was such a joy to shop. The prices are actually reasonable, making it possible for my kiddo to have a cute wardrobe. I essentially bought everything she will wear for an entire year from the store. I’m talking an entire wardrobe of quality brand name clothing from this children’s resale shop. They have clothes for mama too! When we first walked in, we were so excited to see an adorable pair of quality gently used pink hiking boots. My l/o wasn’t wearing socks and Heather, the awesome owner, found some adorable pumpkin colored socks for her to try the shoes on. I’m glad we held out and avoided buying my daughter new shoes because these are in perfect condition & half the price of vans. The condition of her selection was way better than other resale shops I’ve been to. I feel like you could walk in here with zero sense of style and when you walk out, will look like a fashionista. We visit lots of these stores when we travel as a way to spend money on practical items instead of unnecessary purchases. Her curation of clothing is the best I’ve seen on the West Coast & central United States. You can tell she is passionate about her small business. We need more independent-women-owned businesses...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I have been shopping with Moon Child since I was pregnant with my son 3 years ago. I love that we are able to trade in toys and clothes he has outgrown for store credit and turn around and find some unique pieces in his current size. The instagram story sales are super convenient. We have also found some special everyday staples we love from the community bag sales for $1 or less. I have recently started shopping the women's section and purchased some beautiful pieces for my own wardrobe. Long story short, I'm obsessed. Haha. Heather, the owner, is so sweet and offers such an amazing resource to our community. If she decides to expand and add on a Moon Child cafe that sells coffee, pastries, and sandwiches I will never leave. I will have to quit my job and blissfully fall into financial ruin while sipping on a crescent kid latte and spending the last of my store credit on this stylish leopard print...
Read moreI just love this little shop. The ladies who own and operate dedicate so much of their personal lives to creating a space that is lovely for parents and children alike with high quality, in style second hand clothing.
I appreciate that they do Instagram sales and offer virtual shopping as well. Very understanding and attempting to meet the needs of so many of the population who may have anxiety, be immunocompromised, or simply do not have the time to shop.
The only complaint I could ever have is parking and that is not their fault at all.
This shop is such a blessing to the community and I definitely recommend it to parents, aunties and uncles, friends of people with children, grandparents, so on and so forth!
You can even bring your kiddos as they have a play area and are...
