UPDATE STILL 5 STARS: We enjoyed our take out so much, we have done it quite a bit during the hot days and I have tried MORE of their food. (Because of my health, sashimi and sushi is easy on my belly, I'm on IV nutrition to supplement And usually can't eat more than few bites. Sushi is a family love, and good for me so they treat me when possible.)

One week, we had sushi 3 times in a HOT week and they gifted us an extra roll:

Fried Unagi roll: whole roll is deep fried, INSANELY delicious! I don't usually like the whole roll friend, but this was to die for. Anytime u see Unagi tempura fried, try it, Sushi train would deep fry a piece of Unagi fr a hand roll also insane. Unagi is always good, always! Fried Unagi? Heaven! just eat it warm!

Salmon skin hand roll: these rolls is what made us go back 3 times in a week. Stuffed with salmon skin, so delicious, a bit of Unagi sauce drizzle and avacados. But this is a hard core genuine sushi place and they only do salmon skin in HAND roll. Go for it, u won't regret.

Spicy Tuna Hand roll: too spicy for me, but my health limits me. I detect spicy when no one else does but my family couldn't get enough, bro loves spicy tuna, so does my mom. Absolutely fantastic.

We have had a handful of rolls and every single thing we have gotten from this restaurant has been nothing short of amazing.

STILL love the hamachi kama, review for that is below. First time eating their.

Some new sushi restaurants have opened close by, but until disproven, Asahi is the best and most authentic sushi house and worth it every time without question. Always kind about my needs, always good with packing things properly.

My ONLY wish, is that they would add TakoYaki to their menu. And maybe also do salmon skin regular rolls too. TakoYaki is typically a stream food but it's so good and I think would be an added benefit to the appetizers.

When I'm inspired to write a review, I make it detailed cause I usually order out and that is helpful to me.... I rarely leave a second review with an update!

This is because the place is really just that damn good!

Thank u for ur care, meticulous detail, my family are chefs and we are rarely so taken nor impressed by a place. Bro cares for me rather than work as a chef cause of my health and when we can this is a treat for all of us.

Thank u, Asahi team, u are stars from chef to server, all of u rock!

Blessings and peace!

First review below:

One of the best, if not THE best place in town for sushi. 3 types of toro when available and at VERY reasonable prices.

I e been unwell so my family picked up and order and brought home. I decided to get the hamachi kama as my meal (it's more then big enough for most people to have as a meal with some rice). Family got sushi, Everything was spectacular!

Hamachi kama had an unusual (but I loved it) presentation for a too-go order. Heads up to anyone thinking of doing the same thing. They poured a TON of sauce in the plastic container on top of salad and veggie. Served as sauce for everything. I always ask for extra sauce but forgot that night, and was completely stoked! It was so good I ate it cold cause I just couldn't stop. I can't wait to have it warm next time lol. 10++

Only issue was I didn't know there was free floating sauce in the container, which was really flimsy, brittle plastic (whole thing broke by the time I finished what ended up being 2 meals for me) and a bit spilled getting it out of the bag. GOOD news was they gave me so much awesome delectible sauce that it wasn't an issue.

Anyone considering this item, don't hesitate, JUST ORDER IT. Unbelievably good, and I usually sake (salmon) kama everywhere that has it and hamachi kama - I usually like the fattier salmon more but this time ....

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this dish and my family couldn't say enough good things about their sushi and it was our first visit which was "to-go" which isn't ideal yet I still waxed poetic for this entire review. lol

Blessings and...

Jan 2025 We were in the mood for sushi on New Years, and were pleasantly surprised to see this place was open. The surrounding area was a bit sketchy, and I probably would not come again after dark.

The inside was cozy, dimly lit with soft music in the background. There were mostly 2-4 people booths with a 6 people booth in the corner on a raised step. They also had 2-6 people tables, and the short bar by the sushi chefs had high chairs. There was a small bench in the waiting area.

We had to wait a minute before someone came to greet us. The staff were all friendly and polite, willing to talk if we wanted. They gave us small plates to share our food and brought soy sauce to the table. Note the water automatically has lemon slices in it. The staff checked on us frequently and were diligent about refilling our waters.

The food was all very delicious. We highly recommend the agedashi tofu. The sushi burrito was definitely the best contructed I have ever had (it didn't fall apart as I ate it), but it didn't have much meat. The sushi rolls were all tasty and had a good amount of fish.

The bathrooms are shared with the other businesses in the building. You have to go through the backdoor of the restaurant and walk a bit. Note the code on the backdoor, you will need it to get into the bathroom. The way is nicely labeled with signs, and there are no stairs on the way. There are man/woman bathrooms, with 3 stalls, including a handicap stall. They are clean and dry and have a baby changing station.

Overall, very good and good service. They did comment on how much we ordered, but otherwise the service was good....

Was good at first until our food started to arrive. I had ordered the Crunchy California roll, when it got to our table I noticed that it had cream cheese in it (California rolls don't come with cream cheese). I brought it up to the waitress and the only thing she offered to do was to take it off the tab, not remake it at all. It was frustrating because I told her I wouldn't eat it and she didn't seem concerned that I was missing out on a whole roll. I brought up the fact that it doesn't include that it has cream cheese in it on the menu. She told her manager and came back to say they took it off the tab and informed her manager that it wasn't on the menu correctly (like that helped me in any sort of way). As we were getting ready to leave my fiance was putting his left overs into a to go box when he noticed a hair on one of his pieces. When brought up to a different waitress she glanced at all of us like she was making sure it wasn't us that had put our own hair on it. My fiance mentioned how gross that was and she responded with "well I mean a hair is a hair". Being so grossed out by that he didn't want either of his rolls that were ordered anymore but they would only refund one. Her response was very unprofessional and rude. We had ordered 4 different rolls at the beginning, and by the end only 1 out of the 4 were eaten by me. Very disappointed in...
