If I could give the owners, the staff, and their products more stars, I would.
Short version: Amazing people, amazing products - I mourn for this mattress when I am away from home. Go, check them out - even if all you do is walk around the showroom and see what they offer, you'll have a great experience!
((Pro-tip for artists and crafters - they sell raw materials on their website))
Longer version below - and yes, it is very wordy :D
Sleep is insanely important, and how you sleep determines (for me) if that use of time was worth it. I've researched all kinds of mattresses for the last few years, because I'm an awesome nerd, and the information came in handy when we had a sudden need (aka mold sucks). I have chemical and scent sensitivities, so a natural mattress was a dream, but not something we expected to be seriously considering purchasing so quickly until the need arose. Wool is a really cool fire-resistant fiber, and allows the mattress to not need the otherwise required fire retardant additives to the mattress material - and many other benefits, talk to HLO for more :).
When my partner and I visited Holy Lamb we never felt pressure about the experience - which is a complete rarity in the land of mattress shopping. The staff are wonderful people who have really interesting knowledge (and are often artists - Holy Lamb has hosted cool Arts Walk things for the last few years I believe!).
When you visit, tell the nice people what you want - help them help you pick the right bed - and don't feel weird about asking questions! We had particular needs (help with air/moisture movement in a small space, ability to fold the mattress into a couch shape, not too heavy to be moved by one person, etc) and they worked with us to find a fantastic solution. Have I praised the staff and owners enough? Don't worry - there is more!
On the last visit, my partner and I ended up staying for 3 hours, trying out different combinations of mattress layers to find out which ones we liked. Turns out some felt good at first, and then less as we lay there - and some felt good at first, and over a little bit of time got even better. Taking the time is worth in, no matter where you decide to mattress shop! One of the owners was in that day, and we had some great conversations while my partner and I laid about - he is a wealth of truly fascinating information - and he knew just when to give us space.
After our visits, in early February we ordered a latex Shikibuton and a quilted wool topper + two moisture barrier layers. Then, the GIANT SNOWSTORM started showing up - and the owner stayed late in the beginning of the February snowstorm this year so that we could pick up our mattress at the store.
Seriously - stayed late. We had a hard time getting out of Downtown, that's how late - I cannot explain how much we appreciated (and always will) that particular act of kindness. Due to circumstances, we'd been sleeping on a floor for a few weeks so we REALLY wanted the mattress before the snow hit!
It's been about 6 months now, and what I said in the tl;dr above is true - sleeping elsewhere is almost always a letdown, because of how great this mattress combo is. I feel more rested, more comfortable, and wake up less sore sleeping on this mattress - and all our other requests were met as well. How often can you say that?
Visit, check them out - and seriously consider them when you need a new mattress!
Thank you...
Read moreWe purchased a mattress, pad and adjustable frame. We specifically stated we had back pain and did not want a firm mattress. The mattress and pad delivered were too firm for our backs. We tried to adjust during the 30-day period, but simply were unable too. When we contacted the store, they were willing to work with us.
We also discovered issues with the adjustable base we purchased. The model is a 9t (older model) dated to 2016, possibly without warranty, wave feature is broken, and the frame cracked. Reverie is not taking responsibility for the frame and the store is having coordination issues with this company. We continue to work with both Olympia Bed Store and hope Reverie will address the issues with the adjustable base.
We were able visit the Olympia store to talk in person about the adjustable base and the issues with the mattress and pad. We were welcomed by Kim, Valerie and the owner, Jason. All three were wonderful to deal with. We explained our research on the products, and how we hoped to find a solution that worked for everyone. They were reasonable and accommodating. We agreed to have our mattress upgraded to the 8-inch (we had purchased the 6.5 inch) which we agree is a better option for those with back issues. As for the Reverie adjustable base, unfortunately, all of us are waiting to hear from that company. Hopefully, that will be resolved as well. We do believe Holy Lamb Organics is doing everything they can to address our concerns, which we have reported within the 30 day window.
I have read the post below, and we are excited that the store is willing to assist us, as we are only two weeks into our new purchase. We have heard from Reverie, who said we should go through you, since you were the direct seller of the frame. Sounds like we are both getting the run-around from that company.
EDIT (9/25/22) - we had a successful return and replacement handled by the Store and Reverie at no charge. Although the 9t is a good frame, we now have a newer model which is easier to find parts for, if anything breaks. We also think the massage is stronger on the 650 model. Thank you Olympia Bed Store...
Read moreI have bought several items from Olympia Bed Store and I can easily say that their quality is going to be hard to beat. I love going to the shop because it’s such a common relaxing place.
I worked with Michelle on my last purchase for new quality pillows. Michelle was attentive and listen to my needs without making me feel pressured or rushed in my process, which is very important to me as an indecisive person. I will continue to go back to the Olympia bed store because of their reasonable prices and high-quality products but also because of the level of care I received...
