I visit the B-52 Memorial Park in Orlando several times a year. As a retired USAF aircrew, with service aboard B-52 G and H variants, this Park is the perfect location for me to sit quietly and reflect on those heroes I served with, especially those no longer with us.
This particular B-52 is a D-model variant, most prominently known for its service to our country during the Vietnam War. It was B-52s like this one that ultimately broke the back of the North Vietnamese government and motivated them to resume peace negotiations. During those B-52 bombing campaigns over Hanoi, the spirits of our POWs in the Hanoi Hilton were lifted, as the bombing reminded them that they were not forgotten.
McCoy Air Force Bace, now home to the Orlando International Airport, was home to this and other B-52s and their crews and support personnel during the Cold War.
The Park is very well maintained. Every time I visit the Park, there is always a groundskeeper that is on site providing detailed upkeep.
It is also satisfying that each visit I witness at least 1 family walking around the Park, viewing the B-52, teaching the younger generations about the significance of this warbird.
I highly recommend this Park as a place to visit either individually or as a family. GPS directions will get you there. There are 2 small parking lots on site. At least one of those parking lots is open during the Park’s...

just be careful of the wasp nests because they are everywhere on the plane. i have no clue how i didn't get stung, running around that thing. so I take a star off for poor maintenance. like dude, just hire an exterminator.
Anyways I've been meaning to review this place but I just kept forgetting, we went around a 2 months ago so treat this review as if it was made, well,...
Read moreVery nice – hard to get to. This is a hidden gem of a B-52 display nestled in the northwest corner of the Orlando airport. It is a little difficult to get to and has limited parking. The day that we visited the grounds were well kept. The plane looks well restored and maintained. There is a building in front of the plane that allows for a good place for observation and picture taking. It is a good place for B-52, WWII and aviation...
