We arrived at around 3:10 PM on a Monday afternoon. There were about five tables of guests dining when we arrived. Our server, Julia, dropped off a brick called bread. It was several minutes before water was brought around. Julia presented an attitude of someone who wished to be any place other than the one she was in. We placed our orders and requested fresh bread. About 10 minutes later that was delivered and our food right behind it.
While we waited, my husband and I had the opportunity of watching a male staff member do the alcohol inventory. He wore shorts, sneakers without socks and what I can only call a “wife beater” t-shirt. You know, those white sleeveless undershirts your grandfather wore under his white dress shirt or Tony Soprano wore while he was talking to the ducks in his swimming pool. While he was clearly in good physical condition, his attire was more appropriate for the beach than a restaurant while he was working. He carried a clipboard, chatted up one of the guests in the restaurant, moved from in front of the bar to behind the bar and through the kitchen and restaurant. Much of this time, he was observed drinking from a large styrofoam cup. His mannerism was less than professional during the open hours of the restaurant that is touted to be a rather expensive place to dine ($$$$).
So back to the food. My husband had grilled salmon and he was quite happy with it. I ordered the Blackened Fish Tacos. Two of the tortillas were soft, one was hard, maybe from being exposed to heat too long. The fish was not seasoned and crunch from cabbage and carrots was about it for the dish. The mango salsa had the only flavor that could be discerned. Then, I asked for mayonnaise for the fries. Julia brought it with her underwhelming attitude. I looked at it and saw yellow on the one side of the mayo. I turned the small dish over on the plate and it fell out in one solid chunk. The mayo was hard and stale. It had been scooped out of a larger container that was too old, not sealed correctly and would have been discarded in my home.
I called for the manager and he did not introduce himself. He said it was taken from larger container and basically made an excuse for what was served. No, sorry, no excuse. This should have been an “I am so sorry, I will speak with your server, we see what is going on in the kitchen, mea culpa” kind of moment. The manager did take care of the check but in no way did he take care of the problem. We left without the feeling we were valued guests or that things could be expected to be good on a...
Read moreAgain we’re too nice to return to a restaurant where our experiences are not good. But we’ll always give an establishment opportunities to correct the wrong. Went to this locale around 5PM. on September 1st and sat in the bar area even though we had reservations in the dining area. We ordered the rainbow trout which was pretty good. It’s what we normally order but again the salad was awful. We ordered the Cobb salad. There were no mango pieces or artichokes. The salad seemed to have been drenched in dressing and was sopping wet. We informed the Server about our plate and she reluctantly took the meal off our bill. Thank you. Again we were rushed out of the restaurant. It felt weird especially when the restaurant was empty. The Server kept coming around to see if we had submitted our charge card for the bill. Like what’s the big hurry. The restaurant was not busy. Oh well. We had to ask the Server three (3) times to get glasses of water. We ordered coffee and a cappuccino but never got any milk or cream or sugar or spoons. And when asking the server for those items we didn’t get a warm reception. More than anything our disappointment is with the service. Never saw a Manager walk around or even ask patrons how was their meal or if there was anything else we needed. When we asked the Server if we can speak with the Manager no one came around. Hopefully when Management reads this - they’ll make the necessary changes or hold training to ensure patrons return. And to add injury to insult I showed the server my military retired veteran ID and said to me we don’t take that. Thanks for honoring veterans....
Read moreI don't normally leave reviews when I have a negative experience, but I wanted to bring this to the attention of their team so that hopefully they can make a change to their current guest experience.
I placed an online order for a pickup order at 10:00 am to be picked up at 5:30 pm at the Orlando Gateway Location. I arrived at 5:30 and received a text from Bonefish with a link, I also followed the instructions on the sign in the parking spot for pickup orders. I clicked the link, entered in my spot number, and hit "I'm here". I received a confirmation that I was checked in and both the sign in the parking lot and my phone said that someone would be bringing my food to me.
In most cases I would have waited a few minutes and then gone in to check on my order, but I had my two year old in the backseat and was hoping to avoid taking her out. Unfortunately, after waiting fifteen minutes I ended up having to take her out of her car seat to go inside.
If I had gone inside and the staff had kindly said that the kitchen was backed up and our food was almost ready I would have understood, but I walked in and a bag of food with my name on it was sitting on a window sill. I let the staff know that I had followed the instructions and checked in and they said that I should have called to check in, which isn't what the instructions said to do. All of the food was cold, french fries were soggy from sitting there for so long, and my family had to rush through dinner to accommodate a now exhausted two year old...
