I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a multitude of reasons which I have listed below. This isn’t the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at but it’s very low on the list. I stayed here for four nights so I feel like I got a pretty good feel for how the hotel is.
Cons
The shower was not cleaned before my stay and had hair that was not mine in the tub. A lot of the paint in the shower has also been chipped away and needs to be replaced. There’s also no liner, just a ripped up curtain so water will get all over the floor when you shower.
Safety became a concern on my first night because someone directly outside my window was arrested. I’m not entirely sure what for but there were four police officers involved in his arrest and this also woke me up in the middle of the night. Day two of my stay the police showed up AGAIN as I watched them go all throughout the building and I also don’t have any idea why they were called. Day three there was a “security guard” standing in front of the main entrance but it is unclear what his roll was and why he was guarding the front.
The elevator is quite possibly one of the slowest elevator I’ve ever used. Not sure why it takes so long but it was also an annoying factor during my stay.
Mini fridge didn’t really work. I was at the hotel for a few days so I went to the grocery store to buy food. Second day when I woke up I realized that the fridge was only barely working and not very cold at all. I lost some money having to throw out some spoiled food and couldn’t go back to the store to buy more because I knew it wasn’t going to work.
My main door to my room barley worked. Every time I would swipe my key I would have to use my body force just to get the door open. A handicapped, child or elderly person would most likely not have been able to open the door and was yet again another irritating inconvenience.
Clientele is questionable. Although Ramada does not get to choose who their guests are, it goes with our saying that the people staying here might participate in things that you or your family might not be comfortable with. Several times the elevator would smell like weed, guests stopping me in the parking lot asking if I knew where to get alcohol, and lots of cigarette smoking in the front of building.
Pool was pretty dirty. I don’t have photos because when I saw it I just immediately left because I knew I wasn’t going to use it. It has very obviously not been cleaned in a long time and was filled with leaves and other debris.
Pros
Very nice bed! The king sized bed in my room was so incredibly comfy and was one of the best beds I’ve used at a hotel. Sheets were visibly clean and smelled fresh - this was one of the best parts of the stay.
Great WiFi. If you need to use your computer this is a very fast and stable connection. I was happy with it in comparison to other networks I’ve used in the past.
Staff was pretty helpful or at least wasn’t rude. Any question or concern I had was taken care of and no one had an attitude. The only hiccup was one staff member who couldn’t speak English and came into my room without permission. It was unclear what she needed but she did something to the bathroom and left - not the biggest deal.
Overall pretty clean other than the bathroom. I really liked that my room didn’t have carpet. I have bad allergies and this made it a lot easier for me to stay in and had an overall fresh feel. I really really just wish they would have kept up with the bathroom.
Pretty quite. The only time I was woken up was when the man was arrested...
Read moreI only stayed here one night as I was flying out the next morning from the nearby airport. Wish I'd had more nights here as it was REALLY nice and the breakfast buffet is incredible!||- The room was HUGE considering I only paid about $105 for it. I had a big, beautiful super comfy bed with lots of pillows as well as a large bed room. There was a desk area as well as another area with a table and chairs. There was a coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom was quite large with a really nice shower.||- The light fixtures had USB and USB-C ports for charging my phone, Kindle, smart watch. The prior hotel I'd stayed at during my trip didn't have these and since I forgot to bring a USB plug had to head out searching for one. ALL hotels should have these!||- The breakfast buffet was OUTSTANDING! ||There was coffee, an espresso/latte machine, lots of different teas. Apple, orange AND cranberry juice. ||There was yogurt in both a machine as well as small portable portions like you'd buy at a store. Granola and FRESH BERRIES! for the yogurt. ||There were also several types of fresh fruit.||There was a large heated buffet server with two types of scrambled eggs - regular and with onions and sweet peppers mixed in.||There was bacon and sausage in another heated buffet server||There was a waffle maker AND a pancake machine! I've never even seen a pancake machine before!||There was an assortment of breads, bagels as well as muffins and pastries.||The people working the breakfast buffet were also super friendly. I complimented the food to the gentleman working there and had fun chatting with him.||- I found out that you can stay as late as noon in your room without an additional charge. I inquired about additional hours as my flight wasn't leaving till late in the afternoon. I decided not to stay as I could just use all those extra hours to explore the airport a bit. But if you do want to stay, they're currently charging $15 per hour and you can stay as long as 3pm paying that. So good to know if you have a later flight.||- The shuttle for the airport was super easy to catch. I can't remember the increments of time that it runs but did note it was quite frequently. As the airport is so close by it was also a REALLY short trip.||All in all, a really nice hotel, especially considering how inexpensive it was. I will definitely stay here again and recommend...
Read moreI gave an overall star of 1 because the service was horrible and I believe fully that the way you are treated by the staff leaves the biggest impression. We stayed here 2 nights, one night before our cruise and one night after our cruise. When we first arrived, I called for the shuttle service from the airport. The front end person told me where to meet the shuttle and it would be 5 to 10 minutes. After 25 minutes of waiting, I called the hotel back and was told that it is a 45 minute round trip route and it would be 5 to 10 minutes before the driver would be there. The staff member seemed annoyed with me when I asked for clarification as I was already told 5 to 10 minutes and it was well over. She repeated that the driver was on the way and seemed annoyed with me. When we got to our room, we found a bag of KFC food in the fridge that was not cleaned out. The rest of the stay was ok, until we checked out. When we checked out, I asked about early check in for when we returned from our cruise. Again, feeling like I was an inconvenience, I was told that it wasn't guaranteed but to call the morning of to ask. When I asked if we would at least be able to store our bags, I was again told it wasn't guaranteed.
When we returned from our cruise I called to see about early check in. I was told to come at 2 pm. I arrived right at 2 pm and was told that a room wouldn't be available for another 30 minutes. When I told the front end staff member that I had called ahead and was instructed to come at 2, she told me that the last room was given the gentleman just ahead of me and I would have to wait for another room to become available. I was frustrated that even after following their instructions, I still had to wait. It was also even more frustrating that the staff continually gave the impression that I was an inconvenience. I never felt like they were concerned with my needs and I never felt that I was a priority to them.
The shuttle driver from the airport was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a decent breakfast and the staff did a good job of keeping the food replenished and stocked. My only complaint was that the table I sat at had a dried on coffee stain which looked like it was from a...
