I've lived here for about 2 years now, I started my lease when it was called Modera. Don't get me wrong the amenities are great and it has the best view of Lake Eola. However, the security at this place is severely lacking. A couple months back I was sitting in my living room when a man in a hat unlocked my door and walked into my apartment. I immediately said "hello? what the hell, who are you?". The guy kept his head down and just turned around and walked out without saying anything. I am a young woman living alone, so the fact that someone was able to get into my apartment is very unsettling. I was about to take a shower too, thank god I waited for the water to heat up or something terrible could have happened. I told the leasing office about the incident, and the said there was no logs of any entry with BT, therefore the guy had a key phob that worked. I got my lock reset and changed. However, when I asked them if they could look back at elevator footage to try to identify him, nothing was really done. The parking garage gates are usually always open, letting whoever in and allows access to the stairwell. Fast forward to today, ANOTHER man JUST tried to unlock my door with a key phob and it didn't work. I heard him walk back to the elevator room (didn't try any other door). I walked out after throwing some shoes on to try and ask him who he was, but he was already gone. I looked at the elevator floors and saw one was on floor 9, I live on 8. I'm guessing he was just on the wrong floor or something? I still notified the leasing office about it because there just really shouldn't be an excuse for this. There should be cameras in the hallways, and in the parking garage stairwells. I have also gotten stuck in the elevator before for over an hour, sometimes there are only two working elevators. Overall the staff is nice, it's just the building itself could have a lot of improvements. The apartment is very nice and clean, no bug problems, or anything wrong with the units. However, I am moving out at the end of this month because living downtown is not that great anymore, very noisy, and have to wait in traffic forever just to be able to get into the building on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a medical student and nurse. My boyfriend is an electrical engineer. He lived here for two years, I moved in with him after one. The first year, prior residents had stated they moved out due to downturn of the city itself and this building since it came under new management.
Part of the reason we moved out was due to the unfortunate fall of DT Orlando; it used to be a lively and happy place. Now it is riddled with homeless people that pee and poop on the sidewalks, scream at you, one pushed me. The crime in Orlando has become severe. We no longer felt safe going out at night. There seems to be a lot of riff raff moving in. Towards the end there was a drunk group stumbling and broke our mirror outside the apartment door. A neighbor we have constantly blasts music so loud it knocked a picture off the wall-thatās saying a lot because my boyfriend and I both love EDM music. We reported this to the leasing office via email and voicemails-calls never returned. There are aggressive dogs being allowed, when the date and time of aggressive dog interactions were reported they were never investigated, no community announcement sent. I have a reactive dog that does not live with us there are safe ways to live with aggressive reactive dogs. Someoneās child or other fair will probably be mauled soon. The neighbors above us let their dog pee on the patio and it drips down onto ours. 2/3 elevators for a 22 story building are working. The service elevator which is the one that allows people to move in and out has been down for 3 months, which means when someone moves in our out they have to use a regular elevator and then there is one elevator for 22 floors. The garage door that is gated has been broken for half the year so other people can come in and park. The security guards at the front desk are seldom present, so Uber eats drivers and alike often say they canāt deliver because they canāt get in. You have to get your mail from security at front desk and theyāre seldom present. Itās supposed to be a luxury apartment and itās not that anymore. Paired with the degenerate crowd thatās been plaguing DTO moving into the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I first moved in the building two and a half years ago, it was very nice. Since, theyāve had management changes and it has gone down from there. Itās such a nice building but it was poorly built. The smell from other apartments in surrounding floors travels thru the ac vents and you will smell when they are cooking and the smell of weed. This is supposed to be a a smoke free building but they donāt enforce that. Sometimes it smells like you walk into a dispensary. We have spoken to management about that, both Kellie and others and they state that they will do something about it. It always remains the same. The place is getting very ghetto, people walking around being loud and even with radio speakers in elevators. And the worst thing is the smell of trash coming thru the vents as well and on the first floor lobby. Unfortunately the trash only gets picked up by the city on certain days. Monday is one of those days so the trash from the weekend just sits and it creates this horrible smell. They could pay to have it picked up more often but I donāt know what they do with all the money from the tenants.
In this time, the lights on the first floor of parking garage have gone out and they havenāt fixed them two years later. This creates a safety hazard to the residents that are using the garage. We have had break ins, we have had armed robberys, stolen vehicles and drunk drivers crashing vehicles. Management refuses to do anything about it. If they would, they would keep the gates closed and instead they keep them opened. And when there is actually a crime out of the garage, they hire cheap security following the week after that. Sad that it only keeps getting worse. And all of this crimes can be verified by obtaining the records from the city of Orlando showing the police reports, etc.
This truly isnāt a luxury building. Pay a little more if you have to but truly enjoy luxury living elsewhere they can really deliver it. We are moving out once...
