St. George Orthodox Church — Attraction in Orlando

I want to take a moment to reply to ‘Alex R.’ who left a totally inappropriate review. Absolutely insulting.

First of all that church sir is not your luggage storage area.

Second of all, my husband and I came to that church recently desperately needing financial assistance or we would have literally been evicted.

CARE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?

The priest, whose one of the most genuine God Blessed priests I ever met helped us.

From his own pocket! Another three parishioners gave us cash.

In total for a church who we’ve never been to they helped us with over $300 dollars on the spot. How dare you leave such a review? It’s not the Saint George hotel. It’s a downtown church & security must be very strict.

Only two years ago, two years ago... the worst mass shooting in modern American history occurred less than a mile from that church.

Furthermore... that church that you so quickly spoke bad about was the only church to host a memorial service for the victims of that nightclub shooting.

That church feeds the less fortunate in the entire city free meals seven days a week.

That church is filled with the warmest most welcoming people, but your right Alex R. it doesn’t have a bell captain or a concierge because ITS A CHURCH NOT THE HOLIDAY INN! So the next time you want to bad mouth a church, choose wisely.

And I’m not finished.. we’ve visited multiple Orthodox church’s and I’m saddened to say none have been so welcoming such as Saint George’s. Don’t you dare...

Saint George is an Amazing place and very welcoming and a beacon of light in a world as dark as this one. In my personal experience before coming to Saint George my life was going good overall and I did things I'm not proud of I was very much of the world I did things that I thought would make me happy, what society says will make a young man happy and at 1st it was fun but there was no satisfaction in it and overtime going to clubs and parties and doing dumb stuff with friends just got boring. I decided to one day change my so googled this place and attended, that was nearly 6 months ago and I love this place I found a Home here in the sense that I found meaning here I found my brothers here and in a way a family. It's a very humble place it's not rich and fancy like some churches you'll see but it's the people that make this place amazing and all of us come from different backgrounds and walks of life yet all of us are united in our common cause for Christ our God. If life seems a little overwhelming and in a way empty I highly suggest coming to Saint George you'll never know what you'll find but for me it was God...
