Two experiences in last 4 months:
During the first, the only information they could give me about printers was what was on the shelf tag, and I could read that myself.
The tags had inconsistent information so I couldn't compare printer to printer, and shelf tag info didn't match the printer box information. The associate was nice, but very, very uninformed, and we spent way too much time trying to sort things out. I did not feel confident in purchasing, so finally left and drove all the way to Best Buy, and like magic, bought a printer and was home all in less time than I spent at Office Depot/Office Max trying to decipher what was what.
This last time, I left with what I wanted, and the cashier was really nice even offering some additional, helpful information. However, the beginning of the shopping experience was less than stellar.
I showed a manager the picture, name, and description of an item that Google Shopping said was in stock at their location.
He repeatedly said "that's not our website" and went back to what he was doing without looking at the picture or name. ?!
It shouldn't matter how item information is communicated--any good CSR or manager should help the customer find what they are looking for. Period.
Verbally, I would have been able to only offer a fraction of the information I showed him, especially since I didn't know what the item was called. Finally, I walked away, then decided to click order online, and was taken to "their" website, which showed the SKU. Yay!
I went back to him, showed him "their website" (and how it was linked to Google Shopping). As soon as he actually looked at the name/picture, he told someone to take me to "Aisle [6]". He didn't even need the SKU, once he actually looked at it, he knew right where it was! That should have happened in the beginning.
I don't know his circumstances, and we all have bad days, and as for the uneducated associate, who knows..we have all had to learn our jobs at some point, somehow... Maybe these were oddball experiences. I am not saying I won't go back, but I'm not exactly planning a visit anytime...
Read moreI was looking for wireless speakers for my computer on-line and found one at your Kalamazoo location. After reviewing the description, I decided to go to the store and purchase two of them. When I arrived at the office, I opened the package and was surprised to see wires. I called the store and was told they don't have wireless speakers. You have to use a bluetooth. I explained the product description says they're wireless, he just said he would have to contact corporate about the description and sorry. I am highly disappointed and wouldn't of given them one star but it wouldnt let me leave a review...
Read moreI stopped today to pick up an item that i saw online. Was told that they did not have it. Never offered to order it for me, just turned away. I went home and looked it up online and tried to order it. This morning i signed up to receive emailed specials and for doing it i would receive a 25% off coupon. I never received it, talked with a customer service and was told there was nothing they could do. This will be the last time i use them for anything. Seems like in this economy the stores would take better care of...
