My mother and I go there for the 6oz and 9 oz steaks. Our favorite part is always the salad. We do curb side pickup and then go somewhere quiet and eat in our car. My mother “loves” the salads. LOVES THE DINNER salads. The diced tomatoes, fresh cheese, purple onion, always so appealing and good!!!! On 9/5/21 around 3:00 p.m. we picked up our to go order. We then left, , got settled and then started to take out food from the bags. The salads looked old with water in the bottom and wilted brown around the edges, cheese looked old. So disappointing that I called the restaurant. I asked if we could have fresh ones. We interrupted our dinner, drove back and went back through the drive thru to get fresh ones. I literally gave them the old ones back. ( mistake) The gal that took them ( bigger woman with glasses) looked annoyed. Why? Would she not want fresh salads after paying 40.00? She returned to give me what looked to be one of the exact salad but picked through and in disarray and it looked like a much smaller amount due to she picked through it. It was so UNACCEPTABLE!!! The other salad looked not much better. No purple onion with still brown leaves. My point is, salads that look like that needs to be tossed!!! I only wish I took a picture. I will next time. We are hoping this never happens again. If so, we won’t be coming back. You loose business over things like that. I put the date on this review so you can pin point who worked and dealt with salads that day. You need to loose money and TOSS OUT wilted brown edged watery salads. Anything else is not acceptable. It stems from poor management and staff that could care less. If they were to eat it themselves, they wouldn’t.Although the steak was tasty, it was pretty tough as well. You must of lost some pretty good help because we noticed terribly Sunday 9/5/21! I’m so sorry for that. Very disappointing visit at...
Read moreUnwelcoming experience: This web page says that reservations are accepted so I called earlier today to schedule one but was told they don't accept reservations? She did tell me to stop in when it was getting close to the time that we wanted to dine and they'd put us on the list. We did that this evening and the dark haired server with glasses (hostess?) told my husband that we'd have a 35 minute wait. We went back 25 minutes later and I started to explain that we were back for our table. She rudely cut me off and said we don't take reservations..... Sigh....I told her what I explained above and she said we disappeared because they had a table for us 10 minutes after my husband was told it would 35 minutes? She grabbed our flatware and started walking so I followed. She sat us at a booth but i don't know why we were treated that way? As I explained to her, we were only following what we were told, plus, there were several open tables at the time we were seated so it's not like she had to squeeze us in. I am a former restaurant owner, and honestly, her behavior was not necessary nor welcoming and it bordered on badggering. Our male server was excellent though plus the food was timely and very good. We will return but one more bad experience upon arrival will keep us from...
Read moreMy first experience with Texas Corral was somewhat disappointing. I ordered takeout for several reasons; too long for this post. One, however, is because I believe you can tell a lot about a restaurant by how takeout customers are treated. I’ll begin by saying that the 5 stars a Strictly due to the wonderful young man who chatted with me at the entry while my order was being checked. He was an absolute delight, and I appreciated it so much. My order was ready as stated, and this is what I found when I arrived home. 1. Everything I ordered was in the bag. 2. Things were warm and looked fresh. 3. The streak was prepared exactly as I asked. However: 4. There were only 3 halves in the Corral skins order instead of 4. No big deal; they threw in extra rolls. 5. My side of chili seemed small so I measured it. The container had just slightly over 2 ounces. That seemed a bit skimpy. But that concern was topped when I tasted the chili. It was if someone had dumped a tablespoon of salt into it. I nearly gagged. It went directly into the trash. The steak was a bit salty but not so bad that I couldn’t tolerate it. The chili- horrible. I am mystified by such poor oversight. Management might want to check seasoning use,...
