Village of Oswego — Local services in Oswego Township

I had no clue where to post this but feel compelled to share my experience with others.

I have spent a lot of time in many different suburbs aswell as the city . Oswego and Montgomery area easily has some of the worst traffic of the area for no reason . There are only 30k people in this town. I find myself constantly being stopped by red lights no matter which routes I go and many times , there is no traffic at the red light I’m stopped at. This leads me to believe the city didn’t invest in traffic light sensors . Oswego has very high property taxes like the other suburbs . If you can’t provide the same luxuries as the other suburbs (traffic sensors), then you shouldn’t be charging the same. The town doesn’t have the greatest food selection either. Maybe if the property taxes were lower, restaurants could properly staff their businesses to close later and open earlier.

If it was a city with bustling businesses , a thriving nightlife, and a high population I would understand the traffic. But to me ,it just seems like an inefficient cheap traffic system. Some of us have limited time to begin with so if you’re not looking to waste a bunch of your life in traffic for no reason, find a different home. There are plenty other suburbs that offer the exact same things as Oswego , but...

I recently moved to the Village of Oswego thinking moving to a small town would be quiet & peaceful. Oswego is anything but quiet!! For a small town the traffic is horrendous & loud!!!! You would think I was living in a big city. Constant sirens. Loud cars racing down the streets. Rifle/gunshots. Taxes are high for the area yet offer nothing. Garbage & water is high for the area. Gambling spots every where. Not so nice neighborhoods all around. They keep building more rental properties. No decent places to eat or shop. Low end food & shopping. Police & the village are not helpful with anything to the point of being rude. I have lived in many towns all over the US. This is by far the worst experience of anywhere I have lived. Many much nicer areas around it. Would NOT recommend moving to the Village...
