I just dropped my engagement ring and wedding ring off for a repair. Emilio assisted me with this process. I was dropping off a ring that happens to be a family ring with lots of sentimental value. I expressed my hesitation with leaving my ring for a week. However, Emilio was great and very reassuring. He walked me through the process of how it's left onsite and the repair is done in-house; not sent off somewhere. They take detailed, identifying photos of your diamond, so that way there is no question that the diamond you dropped off is the same diamond they give back to you. It's a very thorough process. Unfortunately, we were experiencing technical difficulties with them emailing the photos to me. However, Emilio went above and beyond by printing out the photos of my ring on their printer and also placing my ring on their gem scope for me to take some detailed photos on my phone, so that way I had a piece of mind knowing I was leaving with identifying photos of my diamond. Emilio was very patient, understanding of my concerns and exuded professionalism the entire time. He maintained a positive and professional attitude throughout the technical difficulties and never once made me feel bad about not wanting to leave my ring without having the photos of my ring and diamond. Here's my Jared story: I bought a necklace and applied a "$50. off" gift card I received in the mail from Jared. All went well until I went to check out and the girl ringing me up tried to charge me an extra $49.99 for a warranty. I brought this to her attention and told her this felt like an underhanded sales tactic. She was kind, apologized and sent me on my way. Flash forward 3 weeks. The necklace was lost by the person I gave it to. I went back to the same Jared location to replace it. The item was not in stock. I asked them if they would honor the $50.off again, and they said "sure, if you purchase our warranty for $49.99". I informed them that this was the second time they used this underhanded sales tactic. They again, apologized and agreed to honor the gift card, ordered it, and gave me a specific delivery date. I bought airline tickets based on this date and the item did not arrive. Surprise ruined. But, "good news" they said, when you return, we'll have it here in a bag with your name on it. I return from my trip 2 weeks later, and guess what, they sold it. I brought my engagement ring to Jared in Oviedo to simply change the head. When I picked it up, my ring was crushed on one side. They first tried to deny it, claiming it was like that when I dropped it off—until they pulled up their own drop-off photos and realized the truth: they had ruined my ring.
They sent it off to be remade, but after 2 months, I returned to find they had literally scanned the damaged ring and remade it with the same damage. On the third attempt, I settled for a ring with minor imperfections only because my wedding was less than 2 months away.
Within 3 months, the same side cracked and the diamond loosened. I was terrified to bring it back, so I went to a local jeweler who tried to solder it but refused further work—because of how bad the damage was. Now Jared refuses to take accountability or repair their mistake.
And the customer service? Appalling. Angela, one of the managers, is the definition of fake polite—rude and condescending over the phone, then all smiles when she didn’t recognize me in person.
