My family and I went to the Regal located at Regal Oviedo Mall, 1500 Oviedo Marketplace Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765 for our family fun night & to celebrate Mother's day weekend. We purchased 4 tickets to see the Ghostbusters movie along with snacks in theater number #17. After the previews, my family and I along with the other customers immediately noticed that there was something wrong with the sound and the speakers. There was a continuous Very loud & unpleasant buzzing & scratching sound when the actors spoke, then various sounds that were distorted & a extremely loud firecracker, crackling sound. There were even parts of the movie when there was No sound at all! Within the first 20 mins of the movie starting, my fiancé spoke to one employee who stated they were going to try to fix it. During that process, everyone in the theater could obviously hear what the employees were attempting to do, and the employees kept slamming the window above us. This was a horrible movie experience. I have a hearing disability, and this not only hurt my hears, but my families' as well. We were all under the impression that this would be fixed during the movie, or that a staff member would stop the movie and move us to another theater if it was not able to be fixed. They did not fix it nor move us. Instead no one said anything to us at all, and no one ever acknowledged the problem not being fixed. I asked to speak to the manager and waited for awhile before someone finally came over. Upon speaking to the manager, he was very rude, unprofessional, and not willing to even give us a partial refund or tickets to see a movie in the future. He proceeded to argue with me and told me I was being rude. I have witnesses that stated that I was not being rude. I am a financial professional, and I have a very keen understanding of how customer service works. I've worked in customer service for over 25 years. I simply tried to explain what happened and wanted either a refund or tickets for future use. I was very surprised of how unprofessional his reaction was, and how he continued to interrupt me. Obviously, he didn't care and was very disrespectful so I ended the conversation. He was not willing to listen nor assist in any way. I asked for his name, and I told him I would be contacting corporate office that it was nice to meet him and to have a nice night. We spent over $70 at this location which included tickets and snacks, and all we wanted was to have a nice family dinner and movie night. However, our entire night was ruined by this experience. This could've easily be avoided if the manager would've acknowledged the issue and handled it in a more professional way. We are local to the area, and I will be sure to let my family and friends know about our experience at this location. We will not be visiting this location in the future ever again. Now I understand why there were only a handful of people at this location watching movies in the...
Read moreI realize this theater keeps the mall alive in Oviedo but the staff and management are going to kill it. I am single mom and take my 4 kids to see all the G rated movies here (that's $45 in tickets to see one movie). I do occasionally go by myself to see movies that are not appropriate for them. Tonight, since my kids are away, I went to see a double feature, Silver Linings Playbook and then The Hobbit. I bought both tickets prior to the movies downstairs. Due to the amount of times I come to this theater one of the movie tickets was free. After the first movie I went back to the girl at the top of the stairs and had my second ticket ripped. On my way to the second movie, Rohan- who says he's a manager, stopped me in the crowded hallway. I asked what he wanted and he said he needed to see my ticket stub because his manager saw me walk up the stairs without a ticket. I told him I never took the stairs and he continued that he needed to see my ticket, blocking my way. A huge group of people behind him turned to watch the scene. I had to put down my bags (from my mall purchases) and search through my purse for the ticket I had bought. I found it and showed him both ticket stubs and all he said 'that's good enough' and walks away. If I wanted to try to 'steal' into a movie without paying why would I have bags, huge UGG boots and a neon blue scarf? He could have simply asked to speak with me by pulling me out of the middle of the hallway and state that there have been people gaining access to movies without a ticket. I would have gladly showed him my ticket. After the movie I saw him talking near the entrance, I asked if he thought what he did was appropriate? He said he was doing his job and just asked to see my ticket. I asked him if it was appropriate to do so infront of a group of people like I am some type of criminal. Again her repeated he just asked to see my ticket. No apology, no care what so ever that I was unhappy. I used to host movie days for all area businesses that support my business to help this theater and this mall. I will never do this again. I buy water there for $8.75 since I do not drink soda and do this in hopes of helping this theater- I had the water and a popcorn in my hand but I am still accused of not buying a ticket. The theaters are big, but empty- maybe someone should start figuring out that it is not the theater but the staff and their lack of common sense...
Read moreI don't usually go to this Regal Cinema as I usually go to the one in Waterford Lakes but I figured since this one was closer to where I was I thought, why not? Oh there are many reasons why not to come here.
First off, the woman at the ticket booth wasn't the friendliest. You could tell she hated her job. But I brushed it off because she wasn't rude, just not friendly.
Secondly, as my wife and I stood in line at the concession stand, an older white* couple followed and stood next to us, not behind us, next to us. Seeing as we were standing there first, we thought it was obvious to the employees and the old white people that we were next. The employee, Alex, some young white male, looked at us and called over next in line. I took a step forward and the old white people cut me off. Alex, the white employee saw this and simply said nothing. He let this old white couple cut us completely. So I looked at him and said, "Hey, we were next." He made eye contact with us and completely ignored my wife and I. A simple, "I'm sorry I didn't see you guys there I'll take you next." Would've made the difference. But nope, we got nothing. That was probably the worst part of the whole experience, being treated like devalued humans. But sadly, that wasn't the end of it.
As the movie started, the lights never dimmed in the theater. The light were on throughout the ENTIRE movie. I know, unbelievable. So seeing as I was already having a terrible experience, I thought I'd get up and find someone to turn the lights off. There was no one that could come help because they were either working behind the concession stand or ripping ticket stubs. Are you serious? The theaters should be your primary concern seeing as you're a MOVIE THEATER.
This was probably the worst movie theater experience I've ever had and my wife an I are avid movie goers.
My recommendation, do yourself a favor and drive a little further and go to the one in Waterford Lakes. That one is 10x better...
