Except for the books, candles and gardening pots, the quality of merchandise at Ollie's seems to have gone down hill recently, while the prices have gone up considerably. In addition, when i shop at this location, I always seem to encounter a member of their management staff who never fails to either glare at me constantly and/or be completely rude and condescending to me, regardless of whether I have to, god forbid, ask him a question or am just quietly perusing the isles (the same one, in fact...a tall male, approximately 30-35 years old with short dark hair and sporting a red shirt every time). Last fall, he was so over the top ugly to me when I asked for his help locating an item that I turned and left on the spot. On my very next visit, I needed someone to assist me in shifting through the stacks of heavy, full size rugs so that i could remove the one i wished to purchase from the bottom of the pile. I had to circle the store a few times before I even saw an employee who seemed to be on the clock and working. When I finally spied one, it turned out to be that same male manager from my previous visit. When I asked for assistance, he became visibly angry and snorted an impatient breath in through his nose. He told me to "go up front and tell one of the guys up there to help me in carpets." Then he spun around and stomped off toward the rear of the store without another word. After that, i didnt return to the store again for almost a year. I tried to contact Ollie's home office to alert them to their manager's behaviors: twice by email and three times by phone. No one ever got back with me or acknowledged my complaint in any way. This manager continues to mean mug me whenever I enter the store today and...

This store is ok. I don't like that they have items scattered everywhere. I went looking for Christmas candles and I didn't see any. That is until I was already in line waiting to pay for the couple things I purchased and said forget about the candles because I wasn't stepping out of long line with one cashier to look at candles that were not in the candle section where you would think you could find the candles, but instead by checkout so maybe people would buy impulsively. They had toys and Christmas decorations everywhere so if you looking for them make sure to look around everywhere before you checkout or leave the store. It's just hard to find stuff in the store. I love the book section...
