I really want to give Prop's where they are due & on the late night of Monday, January 27th, 2025 we visited the Best Buy in Oxford, Alabama at The Oxford Exchange. From the very first Employee we encountered to the very last two Employee's, the Service was a truly wonderful & amazing experience. The Door Greeter welcomed us with a Smile & the willingness to help with our needs as it was an hour from closing time. He pointed us to Lainey who quickly found what we originally came after. She made an upgraded suggestion & we actually purchased two of those items instead of one. Excellent decision! We love what we purchased. We then asked Lainey for further assistance in searching for a Collectors Record Album for a late Christmas Gift for our Son's. Lainey did everything in her power to look for the Album herself. Even though there wasn't one in Stock, She apologized. We were about ready to go to the Check out when we decided that we would try to see the Cell Phone Selection's available. Lainey once again assisted us with many ideas & never once did she rush us. She guided us in making a decision & she requested Ashton to assist also as the Cell Phone we chose was not in Stock. Both Ashton & Lainey worked together to make our Cell Phone Purchase happen before the Store closed. We were the last Customer's. They did it with a smile on their Face & made us feel that we were going to be glad that we chose to Shop & Purchase at this Best Buy Store. Thank you to Lainey & Ashton who found the Cell Phone we wanted plus got us connected. These two Wonderful Employee's who truly went above & beyond with such great expertise in their Jobs truly deserve a Raise & recognition for how they made us feel. We will definitely shop Best Buy in Oxford, Alabama again. We highly recommend the Oxford, Alabama Store & ask if Lainey or Ashton is working when you Visit here. Request their service as they are "The Best" of Best Buy. You won't be just another...
Read moreI work from home, and my computer crashed at the beginning of the week. I took it to Geek Squad at Best Buy, Oxford. I dropped the computer off that morning. I’ve used their service beforehand and was signed up for text message reminders. Normally I have no issues. By Tuesday afternoon I had not received any text updates on my computer, so I decided to stop by and check on the process.
I waited patiently on an employee who seemed determined to ignore that I was there. After finally getting his attention and asking about the status of my computer I was told that they were running a diagnostic.
Fast forward to Thursday and still no text updates on my computer. It’s not a personal hobby computer. My entire jo isnon this computer. Normally within a few hours I receive a message that the computer was checked in. 72 hours later and still nothing.
This afternoon I stopped by again and asked to speak to the manager. The manager proceeded to tell me that my computer was going through diagnostic tests. I said the same diagnostic tests they ran on Tuesday? Then I’m told that there are at least 20 other computers in front of mine. At this point I’m confused because this manager has just blatantly lied about my computer service. I was told twice that they were running diagnostics and then only to find out that the computer hadn’t even been touched in four days due to the number of computers ahead of it. I was finally told that it would take possibly two weeks to get my computer fixed.
If I had known any of this up front or that the staff of this business would blatantly lie to cosutomers, I would have never wasted the time. I took my computer back and dropped it off with a local business this evening.
The local business was able to run a diagnostic on the spot and give me an estimated time of repair up front. Trust local companies. This company does not care for the customer or take pride in...
Read moreveryone should avoid this place, and probably avoid all Best Buys as they obviously care nothing about consumers....I drove over from Atlanta area to purchase a desktop that was listed as 'open box - excellent', meaning the item had no signs of wear and tear and was in excellent condition, although it may not have original packaging. I was surprised when I picked it up and found it wrapped in bubble wrap, with a heavily taped box containing the keyboard and power supply - but having purchased open-box items from Best Buy previously, I was not concerned. I should have been. When I returned to GA, I was surprised to find that the keyboard was missing keycaps, which makes it unusable. I attempted to contact someone at this location, and tried Best Buy customer service but could never get a resolution. As I was pleased with the desktop, I just said screw it and bought a new keyboard. But last week, when I checked the HP computer's status, I learned that the manufacturer's warranty will expire in 4 months - Best Buy advertises that open box item carry the original manufacturer's warranty. I again contacted customer service (which never provides service) and was told that they would forward my complaint and that someone would contact me within 72 hours. Of course, I have heard nothing from anyone with Best Buy. I asked whether this was a used item that the customer had in their possession on June 1, 2022 (which is the date HP says the warranty was activated). Again, no one could respond to that question. I would never have purchased this desktop had I known that the warranty was only for the next four months. They are...
