If you go here then you better know exactly what you want, then get it, and leave. If you spend any time just looking around they will start following you around and harassing you. That place is expensive, if I'm going to spend $50 on a sports bra then I'm going to look things up on my phone and compare the different ones to try to figure out which one is best for me. Well, I guess they thought I was trying to think up some diabolical plan to steal from them, because I didn't already know what I wanted. They followed me to the front door, and when I say 'they' I mean 4 of them. I'm assuming two of them were managers by the looks of what they were wearing. One of them even stood right next to the cashier as I was checking out. It was humiliating and upsetting. I wasn't doing anything but looking at the items and back at my phone to compare. I wasn't going through my purse. My purse stayed on my shoulders and closed. I worked in retail so I know what NOT to do to arouse suspicion. They were not justified in how they acted towards me and they were completely obvious about what they were doing too. I will not be back. Store had only a few customers; items we were interested in had no prices, no one would help us; several employees were huddled looking at one of their cell phones. At the service desk a girl was flirting with a young man, the young man stated," I was just looking,, go ahead and help them" she made a dismissal jesture turned up her nose, flipped her hair and proceeded to lay back across the counter. Eventually a cashier who was on the phone with another customer came to the register and was very nice & helpful. We walked out the door stating we would never be back, Academy Outdoors and Gander Mtn are both within easy driving distance from our Jacksonville home; they will get our business! Read moreThey have a great running shoe line up compared to most shoe stores in this area but I probably won’t be back because they moved all of their shoe boxes into the back so you have to get an employee to try anything on. I’m sure the employees are great and accommodating but I didn’t even bother.
I understand that you’re likely worried about theft but now you’re paying two employees to stand around and fetch shoes when you could have left the boxes out with only one shoe in them to reduce that. Furthermore, you’ve now also lost revenue from people like me who won’t deal with your inefficient operation.
