I was sold car the day after Christmas Iâm 67 years old five days later the windshield breaks because they had put in a windshield that did not belong on the car so when the car was driven home, apparently it put pressure. Nothing hit the windshield. It was the wrong one. cracked from the driver side to the passenger side. I had to replace it for $3000. headlight driver side does not work,, they sold it to me that way. I donât have the money to replace the headlight not for several months .took it to an Acura dealer who told me needed $15,000 worth of repairs. This was not disclosed to me when I bought purchased the car the day after Christmas I live alone.I did replace a timing belt, need Engine mount, Acura dealer, long list of things that are wrong with the car the list $15,000 . A week later the paint is flying off the car on the roof. $15,000 repairs needed sold to me that way paint flying off the roof of the car windshield broken no headlight also no keys both the keys donât work, but the dealer did pay for one key to work so I could drive the car 167 point inspection is advertised with the dealership of Oxnard . I thought I could trust them. Iâm 67. Why would you sell me a car and take my car and $5000 and give me a loan over 10,000 why would you do that to me, I donât have the money to pay for the repairs , it shouldâve been disclosed to me with your 167 point inspection on used cars you donât do that. I canât even afford the headlight because of the car payment the insurance payment would you do this to me? They advertise they do an inspection of preowned cars, not true I saw on their website 167 point inspection for preowned . This car was not disclosed $15,000 worth of work a windshield that cracks five days later because wrong one installed . I have a car loan for over $10,000 and I did put $5000 down and I gave them my car and I have no other car to drive and I canât pay for the repairs for the car until after I pay the loan off have medical bills cancer, to pay they will not pay for the repairs that they knew about before they sold the car but somehow Iâll pay it when the loans paid off if I survive, I canât afford a headlight for at least three more months. I just paid for the windshield at 3000 and a timing belt at 3200. This is a dealership who sold a 67-year-old lady car has the wrong windshield no headlight no keys that work paint flying off the car alone over 10,000 took my MDX Acura and $5000 down payment. Beware make sure you ask you look I thought going to a dealer was trustworthy usually my husband and my father would help with the car, but theyâve passed away...
Read moreI had originally brought my car to a trusted family mechanic to see what the problem was when a check engine light turned on. And they advised me that it was a problem with a certain part that dealt with the transmission. However, they could not do the repairs because Mercedes would not sell them the part so we would have to bring it to Mercedes. They advised us that the part would cost around $450-$500. However, when we brought the car to Mercedes, they gave us a service estimate of $4500. So we paid the $4500 and while the car was in their care, another check engine light turned on and they advised us that it would be another $1600 to repair that issue. They had the car for two months when they finally returned it to us on the same day within hours of receiving the car another check engine light turned on and they advised us that it would be another $1800 to fix that light. November 2023 we had also brought the car in for another light issue which cost around $2500-$2800 and with in that same service, another light came on and they advised us it would be an extra cost. The total cost of repair in November around $3400. The repair service at Mercedes of Oxnard seems very Untrustworthy, With the Estimates constantly changing from the initial amount. They take no accountability and constantly attribute the issue to the car being older. How is it that we bring the car in for one check engine light issue and they say they fixed it only for two more lights to turn on⌠at what point as a consumer do I start to mistrust them and believe that the new issues are of their doing to make extra money. Because everyone knows most of a dealershipâs profit comes from the service department. These people do not take accountability and I want everyone to be aware and beware before they bring their car in for service and have to deal with the same shady business tactic and practices that we have had the misfortune of deal with with. Iâm sure we are not the only people they are pulling this stunt on, I also believe they were trying to take advantage of my dad because it seems like heâs not very English fluent and because of his accent. It was only when I began to speak to the service advisor that they seemed to change their tune. It seems like every time we bring our car in for service for one issue they find many more issues to charge us thousands of dollars more for. Please help, the car has been in their possession for three months now and we do not want to keep paying them thousands of dollars. They keep telling us itâs one problem and conveniently for them more problems arise that cost...
Read moreI don't enjoy car shopping. I am immediately on the defensive as soon as I step into the showroom. I hate the condescending process of the back and forth of numbers while the salesmen write arbitrary numbers on paper, and you tell them it's too high, and so on and so forth. I don't enjoy car shopping, at all.
So, imagine my surprise when I came to Mercedes of Oxnard and my car shopping experience was changed! I had never looked at Mercedes and didn't plan on buying one. My husband thought I might like the brand so we thought we'd swing by to do some window shopping. We ended up walking out with a 2018 400e Coupe, in a glam gold with gorgeous tan interior. And, here's why...
I have never been so properly educated on an automobile brand in my life. When we walked through the door, William, our sales guy, treated us with respect from the beginning. We told him we were window shopping and that I knew nothing about Mercedes. He actually seemed happy! Not that we were window shopping, and most likely not buying anything, but that he had a chance to share his knowledge of the brand. And he did. He, really did. He asked me specific questions about what I had liked about other cars, what I didn't, what my must haves were, what I didn't really need. He gathered all of that info slowly, really listening. He didn't dismiss my questions as stupid (often the case when car shopping, ladies you feel me?) He then showed me the different classes of Mercedes and with my styling preferences and budget in mind too, he walked me over to 4 different vehicles. We test drove them and he showed me every single feature on each car, every time we sat in one. He was the most knowledgeable sales person I have ever met. He turned me into a Mercedes girl within the 6 hours we were there. Yes, 6 hours! He never rushed, he never acted "sales-y", he was just nice, smart, and honest.
Leaving that night in a car that makes my heart sing was a great, but honestly, the experience is what I'll remember, and, what will make me drive 45 minutes further than I need to, when I'm ready to buy again.
Thank-you to William, and the entire team at Oxnard Mercedes. Each and every person, from William to the Sales Manager, to the Finance Manager, to the support staff cleaning up, since we were there long after close, you ALL rocked. Greatest car shopping...
