Dollar General — Local services in Pacific

It is a dollar general.... which is to say they have most small home consumsbles (toothpaste, grooming items, coofee filters, shoe laces, cleansers,etc) a selection of inexpensive clothing, food, candy, tech, in store phone center, OTC pharmacuiticals, and seasonal decorations.

Diary and meat selection limited and often runs on the high side. Coffee and juices run cheaper. They have good sales on soda and cereal. They are a little high on the prepackaged foods. Candy prices are about the same as other stores. Dog and cat food cheaper here than any other store in town.

The DG vitamins and OTC medications are cheaper here than most stores.

They sell small basic appliances, like coffee makers and toasters, cheaper than most other stores but they are basuc models with no frills if you need one. Their selection of tech, car chargers and thumb drives mostly, run high. They have a small selection of reasonably priced pre-paid phones. The closest competitor is Family Dollar but the nearest one is 20 or more miles.

They also have the usual selection of older books and DVDs for 2-4 .

Walked into store #06180 and the music was extremely inappropriate for a business to be playing while small children are in the store. The first song I heard was lady marmalade ok it's a catchy song I get it I sing it when it comes on... BUT NOT WHILE MY KIDS ARE AROUND ESPECIALLY IF IT IS THE UNEDITED VERSION , which it was. I let it go then the next song was P!nk you and your hand. Now that was way inappropriate for children to hear. If you don't believe me listen to it. I live for pi!nk but I play the edited version when kids are around if I play it. I asked for the manager the girl behind the counter asked what I needed and I told her I feel the music is inappropriate while children are allowed in the store. The prices are getting to be ridiculous! Dollar General, naturally you would think it was cheaper than Walmart, but actually it is more expensive. I think I am going to Walmart from now on. WALMART has better prices, better quality items, and normally at least a few more employees. At least this DG is friendlier than the Lonedell location.
