I have visited Lucky's twice now. The first time we got some candy and tumeric cashews which were delicious, but when we hit up the pre-made foods thats where things were a little off. We got the ham and pimento sandwhich which had brown lettuce a sliver of ham and 2 lbs of pimento cheese. I could only handle a couple bites, but I blamed it on maybe me not liking pimento as much as I thought I would. Both visits, we checked out the salad bar and both times it was almost although the refridgeration was never turned on? The fruit was so dried up that it was almost crispy. The salad was also crispy and brown. And for that price, I would hope the salad bar would actually look ok? The pineapple almost looked like it was made of plastic it was so shriveled up, with not a drop of juice in a single piece! The second time I bought some spinach dip and mac and cheese for a small get together. The spinach dip felt like we were eating pure rotten acid and it burned our throats, the mac and cheese tasted like rotten fruit? We also got one of the pre-made frozen garlic shrimp dinners and we had a stomach bug within an hour of eating the only parts we could stomach. Half the shrimp was inedible, the potatoes and corn tasted off. The sausage was ok though. I definitely won't be buying aaaaanything premade there ever again. Maybe the people maintaining the premade foods were not properly trained to do so as it is a new store. I gave two stars because I do like the healthy options of other foods and the...
Read moreLucky's looks like a great addition to the Concord area. There was a wide variety of produce and everything looked very fresh. Good selection of beers and wine, as well as cheeses. There was an area where you can get hot sandwiches made fresh to order. The deli area featured Boar's Head meats. There was a nice selection of fresh seafood and meat. Rotisserie chickens were available for I think $6.99 and $5 on Wednesdays. The store also had a sushi area and a grab and go area that had things like pasta salad or a bagged dinner for two for $14.99 featuring meatloaf and brussel sprouts. I also noticed the front corner of the store had an apothecary section. I also liked that they feature products from the local area, for example I noticed Cleveland Kraut, Ohio City Pasta, and ready to cook pizzas that I think were from The Tremont area. For me the only real disappointment was the bakery area. The store that used to be here had a fantastic in-house bakery that I loved. Most of the bakery items I saw were more prepackaged or some were in smaller packages from some local places but nothing that really caught my eye as much as what I was used to in the former store. The only other disappointment for me was that I did not notice any employees wearing masks although the cashiers at least had a sneeze guard type thing at...
Read moreThe best part of this store to me was the fact t that it had a bulk food last area (and also that it carried some hard to find items I need when making Asian cuisine though a little pricey).
Produce looked more appealing aesthetically than some other grocers in the area and comparable in price to heinans
Had two sandwiches made, one was messed up, other one fine, had been looking forward to these for a while but honestly they left a lot to be desired. The bread was very doughy and the provolone just didn’t taste good - overall the flavor was kind of similar to a gas station sandwich.
Deli counter was very slow to get sliced meats from but it is a new place so giving it time
Overall they do have a good selection of health foods and organic that I don’t see at other places. They also have a health and beauty aid section that looked promising but I did not go...
