It's my first magic show in years, and I felt that Mat chooses obviously impossible tricks. He also heavily relies on camera tricks, smoke screens, which felt underwhelming for the "best" magician in town. As an adult, I was able to focus intently on the magician's "tricks", trying to identify the inconsistent elements. After the show, I think I have some questions for you Mat: Why do you need a cameraman? You obviously have an amazing camera (probably above the audience) that is able to zoom in from far away. Why not have more of those throughout the theater, so that every angle is covered. There's an assumption that your participants are genuine and not plants/shills. So technically you shouldn't know how each of them would respond to your banter. This implies that your conversation is non-rehearsed. So how does the cameraman know where to go next and where to focus next? It's as if he knows what the next trick is going to be. But Mat claims to customize his tricks to each participant. So the cameraman shouldn't know what the next trick is going to be. another assumption is that the video on the screen is a live broadcast. Maybe it's not? Since the cameraman's angle focuses on everyone's hands while carefully obstructing the audience's view, the screen could be playing a pre-recorded video, where the tricks actually work. as for your trick with the fully-covered cloth, are multiple people underneath? The cloth gets taut at a lot of places, which would be impossible if there's only one person underneath. It's funny cz it reminded me of the Vegas episode from Friends, where Joey discoveres someone who's an "identical hand twin".
You know what would be really amamzin? You try to pull off the "impossible teleportation" trick. Instead of doing it as a separate trick, why don't you embed it as part of your audience selection? Example: you ask for participation, then people raise hands, and you "magically" appear in one of the spots and pick your participant 🤯
There're special seats with a table. If I'm in Vegas again, I'll come with a pen and paper to carefully note each inconsistency and ask...
Read moreThe Pros: Mat Franco is an amazing magician. After watching him on America's got Talent. My family and I convinced we needed to watch him in person.
He did not disappoint us one bit. The seating style of the theatre was perfect since it is not to high and not too low. Some seats are different but where we sat we had a good enjoyable view of him. The theatre was also clean and well managed when we were there.
He did perform amazing tricks that you can find on YouTube and back on A.G.T.
He engaged really well with the audience members and his assistants and ushers were super friendly and kind to all even the ushers when they were seating us down.
He is also super funny and could be a comedian in the near future.
The theatre and his show are Go out and see it now. It is way better to see him live than on the screen.
Forget about the prices and negatives you will not want to miss his shows even if you seen him on screens.
The Cons:
No pictures or videos when you enter and during the shows.
Drinks are not served to all. Only in the front row pass the booths. You still had to pay for them though if you purchased but she was kind and polite about it and even during the show if you wanted to purchase drinks.
It is only 1h30 minutes show. Should of put it to at least 2 hours.
All in all he was amazing and loved every single...
Read moreMat Franco; OUR BEST EXPERIENCE IN VEGAS!!! We became immediate fans of Mat Franco through AGT and wanted to catch his show as soon as we learned he had one even though it was in a city we weren't previously motivated to visit. We went to Vegas for a few days to catch his show and visit the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam. Even though we were as familiar with him as we could be going into the show, he blew us away from minute 1 until the end, which came far too quickly! We ABSOLUTELY LOVED every minute and he is the perfect performer, comedian, magician while also being entirely relatable, personable and down to earth. We were constantly in awe and laughing the entire time and were absolutely heartbroken when the show was done. We talked about little else the rest of the night and again the next day to the point that we would have gone to another show (even knowing the material would be the same (although not entirely because he uses so much audience participation that is customized to each show)) the next night except he didn't have one! :-( He is one of the best humans performing amazing tricks while making us laugh the whole time. If you have the opportunity to catch his show, you need to do it!!! We may consider another Vegas trip just for him. We've watched a lot of various shows and he's our...
