I was craving pizza and decided to try this place, I went solo and got a table for myself, my server was taking care of me and the table next to me, he got us a menu at same time and then water and then brought side plates for table next to me but didn't bring me one for which I thought that he might bring it later , I am a vegetarian and ordered a pizza and asked them to replace the meat to mushrooms, pizza came quick in a huge plate which was hot and was just kept in front of me I thought he will now go and bring me a plate to eat but he didn't I waited for a bit and then saw my waiter passing by so I asked him if he can bring me a plate he acknowledged and got me a plate.
The plate had water and leftover food particles, gross right ? I called him again and mentioned that this plate has water on it and before I could say more he said "yeah they washed it" I couldn't digest his reply I said " I know they wash it but I would need at least a tissue to wipe it " as at this point I knew he was ignorant, did not care and didn't have any intention to bring me another plate.
I ate two slices of my pizza, I was kinda mad to be honest so I just asked another server if I could get a box, and waited for my server again to bring my cheque, paid the bill on which I noticed they charged me extra for mushroom, I believe mushroom is cheaper than their fancy meat they mentioned but whatever, I paid my bill and left.
So overall my experience was not as expected or even nice on a neutral ground, the pizza was all soggy in the center and the server obviously...
Read moreMost of this review will be for those with Celiac disease because this restaurant is largely known for its award winning and highly reviewed gluten free crust. First of all, if you want to eat here it is only accessible by foot since it's deep into the Promenade. Learned that the hard way. We're visiting so we didn't know what the Promenade was. We placed an order for pickup and after finally finding where it was, the host told me the crust is made with a gluten reduced IPA. I wrote all over the pickup order that it's for someone with Celiac, and she told me after I already got there about the gluten removed beer in the dough. Because of the trace amounts left after removing gluten, it means it is NOT safe for Celiacs and it's dangerous for this to be advertised as gluten free safe. I'm really disappointed that the restaurant didn't call me ahead of time to tell me about the precaution we should take, because I wouldn't have come here and would've requested a refund. If you're just gluten sensitive it's probably fine, but don't come here if you have Celiac. Even if you don't have a reaction you're still ingesting gluten and that's unsafe for this serious autoimmune disease. I don't have Celiac so I ate it - for a gluten free dough, it was pretty good. I wouldn't get it again because I don't prefer thick crust anyway. But if you're into that sort of thing and you just have a sensitivity to gluten, this would be...
Read moreFlour & Barley Pizza is located along the LINQ Promenade which connects the Las Vegas Strip to the High Roller Observation Wheel. We recently dined here and, after having had several expensive meals at resort restaurants, were quite happy with the more reasonably priced pizza meal here.
The restaurant layout is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a variety of table sizes, making the venue ideal for couples, families and groups of friends. Their menu includes a handful of pizza (red and white) varieties and expected salads and starters. Flour & Barley also features a rather extensive beer list.
During our meal we tried the Calabrese (US$19.5) that was four nice sized slices of well baked pizza. Meatball sausage and prosciutto ingredients were fine and we enjoyed the chili and salsa verde, which added a nice little touch to this pizza. We happily order this pizza again or try other varieties if we were to return.
Enjoyed the pizza along with a Squatters Outer Darkness, which is a Russian style stout brewed in Salt Lake City. More oat than malt with hints of coffee and slightly bitter, this was a nice stout that made a good companion to our pizza.
In the end, we were quite pleased with our pizza dinner at Flour & Barley and would be happy to return here for another meal during future...
