If I could give zero stars I would.
This was the worst car buying experience. It left me extremely angry and defeated. I apologize for the lengthy review.
On Saturday, we drove an hour to this dealership, as we got a flyer in the mail. When we get there my husband goes in and does all the preliminary stuff to see what we would qualify for. We have an older car with a loan on it still that they said they would pay off, we didnāt currently have a down payment, and what our max payment could be. I waited in the car. They get all that done and my husband comes to get me to look at cars.
I round the corner and there is a 2025 White Ford Bronco sitting there for us to look at. Iām over the moon. The Bronco is my dream vehicle. I was shocked. We definitely didnāt go to the dealer expecting to walk away with anything, much less my dream vehicle. I ask the sales guy (I never caught his name since he was mainly working with my husband) how much we had actually qualified for and he never really answered.
Anyway, we take the Bronco for a test drive, falling even more in love with it. During the test drive, the sales guy kept telling us how much our credit had improved, they could tell weād been working on it, that we qualified for a 2025. Fast forward, we get back to the lot and I see a red and white Bronco. I asked about that one, as thatās the one I wanted. In the lot, he told me it would only be a couple thousand more than the white one. I asked if we could check. He proceeded to tell me Iād be leaving the dealership with the Bronco that day.
We get inside and proceed to sit there for an hour and a half with minimum updates about the process. Except waiting on the finance guy. After an hour and a half, he comes over to tell us that there are provisional conditions and they canāt talk to the bank until Monday. I ask what the conditions were. He said, one was lowering the loan amount by $8000, and since it was a new car that wasnāt possible. He never asked if weād like to see anything in that price range or any other options. Just sent us on our way. Told us heāll be calling us and driving our car to us in Humboldt on Monday. My husband asked do they often get the provisional conditions worked out and he said they were pretty good with getting a yes. At this point, I asked if it was for the red one or the white one. He told me, we couldnāt have the red one because it was $8000 MORE. Not thinking anything of it, we left.
On the way home, we start talking over about how we felt jacked around. I told my husband, I didnāt know how we got from a couple grand difference in the parking lot to $8000 more in the office. I looked on the site and it wasnāt more than the couple grand stated in the lot.
We happened to stop by a local dealership. To find out there was no way in hell Joe Mahan Ford were fitting that Bronco within our payment budget.
My husband called them at noon on Monday, after not hearing anything. The sales guy told him, Iām sorry, itās been so busy, we are still working on it. As I write this, itās early Wednesday morning and still no phone call.
Why show us a car that you know wonāt be in our $350 price range? Especially when we didnāt go in asking for a 2025 car. Why string us along, getting us excited, instead of just saying hey look we thought we could but we canāt make it work. Why not say that again when we called to follow up. Why not just say hey your current car loan is whatās messing it up, because the loan on it is more than the car is worth. Which we found out from a different dealer was the main problem.
To me, this is a crappy way to do business. I left that place so very angry and defeated. I couldnāt even be proud of how far weād come to be able to qualify for a 2025. From this moment on, Iām now a customer who will tell otherās to avoid you like the plague. All because you jacked us around instead of being honest and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBUYER BEWARE! This place lies and strong-arms people into buying cars they cannot afford. My elderly mother went in to have her Ford Explorer serviced. She was told that her car had a massive problem that would cost $4000 to fix. At the same time, she is approached by a leather-faced salesman eager to make a sale, and strong-armed into testing out a Jeep Patriot for the day while her car is being looked over. For some reason, and I do not know the particulars, her Explorer was left at the dealership overnight and she drove the Jeep home. After driving it, she decides that she doesn't like it and she wants to have her car fixed but not at the tune of $4000. Quite rational if you ask me. She goes back to the dealership the very next day. When she arrives at the dealership, she sees that her car has been partially detailed as if ready to be put on the lot for sale. Explain to me why a car is detailed so quickly if there is $4000 worth of damage that must be fixed before it can be sold? When my mother explains that she wants her car back, they reluctantly give it back to her and the salesmen try to scare her into believing that she won't live long enough behind the wheel of her car!!! She was then contacted by text by "Brea" who also attempted to scare her into believing that she is driving a "death-mobile" and tells my mother that she shouldn't discuss any of this with me, HER OWN DAUGHTER!!!! Of all the lousy, cheap ways to sell something this has to be the lowest, trying to SCARE AN OLDER WOMAN INTO PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE AND THEN DARING TO TELL HER THAT SHE CAN'T DISCUSS ANYTHING WITH HER OWN FAMILY!!!!! How DARE Joe Mahan attempt to scare people into doing business with him! I myself have never returned to Joe Mahan after having my Ford Mustang serviced here and after getting it back my Traction was messed up. My car has been serviced all over the country (SERIOUSLY!!) and I have never had an issue upon getting it back, yet I get my car back from Joe Mahan and there's a problem, which he and all his lying staff assure me was not their fault. But excuse me, the car didn't have this problem before it was serviced here and now it does after. So, they lied just to not be held responsible. I will be reporting this business to corporate...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePoor customer service. I had an appointment at 1 for a window switch to be looked at under warranty, the salesman walked me back there two weeks prior to get an appointment for 1 hour to troubleshoot and the switch was going to be ordered. The switch was not ordered and I was told if it needed a switch that they would have it overnighted. So possibly 2 trips to the dealership. I arrived early to see if I could get the works oil change, which they were able to fit me in. I have custom wheels and lug nuts so a special socket is needed and I had them put on the work order not to use the socket with the impact gun. I watched the technician use the socket and told him to stop on the second lug nut. The technician said he was only using it to remove them I said stop that is not an impact socket. I went to the service writer and told him what was happening. Another employee said if they broke it they would buy me a new one. No apologies just reasons that they wanted to use the impact gun. If they would have broken the socket then the work could not have been completed. Again I said that is not an impact socket. When service was completed they changed me for fixing the switch. The salesman went back with me to get that charge refunded because the dealer was paying for that as discussed the day we made the appointment. Just respect what is mine and my request there shouldnāt have been an argument and potentially an inconvenience. Guess thereās a reason they are backed up only two weeks and other dealerships are backed...
