I only gave 1 star because that's what I had to do to share my experience. First of all let me say this I am an upstanding, honest & loyal person I understand businesses are businesses, that's how they make money. My experience has been good as long as I paid every week on time consistently without being asked just like I was supposed to which I did each & every week for 1 year. I did some research on the items I purchased & found the true & actual prices of the couch, loveseat & set of lamps I was renting to own & I decided after paying in over $1500 That I would just have some furniture that's not my 1st choice (but neither is what I got from RAC) but that I payed off now & put my $30 a week in the bank & when I got what I needed for my 1st choice that's what I'd get. Yes I should've done that to begin with but I didn't so anyway I called RAC to ask them to come get the furniture but I would like to pay off the lamps & keep them now I did like the lamps & I figured I could pay them off for cheaper than I could buy new ones. I called them 4 days before I needed the furniture out because I didint have room for both sets one had to go, they called to get their $ that's when I told them they were supposed to be on their way to get them. He then let me go to see what was going on. He called back to say he had to reschedule. I was angry but that's my problem anyway 2 days later they show up to get them & he tells me what to pay to have them I said ok can I pay you for this week right now & Thu I will come in & pay them off, the reason being because I wanted to shop for lamps to see if I found any I liked better. He told me no, either pay the 40 to pay them off or they had to take them but I could come in Thu & pay for them. So after being a loyal customer they left my house with their lamps & they will keep them where they can make some more $ off of them. I called after they left to express how I felt in a very calm manner & was hung up on. My problem was their extreme lack of care and or concern of how they were treating a loyal customer. I knew what I was getting when I went to Rent a Center but I did not expect to do business with people who lack the ability to even carry a good moral & ethic work sense unable to treat customers with the respect they are due. Read moreWe went 2 months ago and got an appliance during one of their so called deals.. monthly payment was supposed to be around $70 a month, well next payment rolls due & they will me it's gonna be $280.. I told them no that's not what I signed up for so they showed me my paperwork & not only had they crossed out my personal references & wrote in people that we don't even know. I tell the I'm not paying that much bc it wasn't what the agreement was & to come pick it up. They have not yet once come to get their merchandise or call my phone but they sent me a letter threatening to take legal action against me for payment then also called my husband at work telling him they came over & I just laughed at them thru the front door, they've also called my father every day at his business trying to collect payment & no idea how they got either of their names or numbers bc I didn't put anything about them on my application, then when everyday when I call the store (multiple times a day) the same man always answers & hangs up on me as soon as I say my name... I've called corporate on them 2 weeks ago & got no help there, called customer complaint today just to be told their system is down & try again tomorrow. Even though she is updated weekly on an employee zoom, Given by her district manager, as I have now learned. I was GROSSLY misinformed by said Manager Amanda of the Paris, Tn location. I was promised correction on my billing agreement, put off for 2 months, gaslit, then with attitude told I was wrong, and in so many words, pay or get ffd. Soooo, if you're going to deal with Manager Amanda at the Paris, Tn location, cross reference with her upper management before you sign an agreement. She will tell you whatever you want to hear to make a deal. And honestly, because she doesn't know her companies policies, or care to do her job properly.
