Homesense — Local services in Parkland

Semi-crappy experience. The parking situation kinda sucks. Also because of the ice cream shop next door, parents let their kids run in front of the doors of the store, and throwing balls almost hitting people. Now I know those two things are not the stores fault, they’re just very annoying inconveniences you should take in mind when coming here. Now a store issue is the customer service. They’re not that friendly and they’re not paying attention to their job! I asked the cashier to wrap a glass item with paper. Tell me why did she gave me the Gen-z stare? It was not a stupid or complicated ask. God forbid I want to protect something I bought in case the kids running a muck outside throw their ball at me by accident. Also why did she scratch off some of the glitter of the item and tap it to make sure it’s glass? Like what was that for? Also she forgot to ring up an item. And I get it, it happens if the item is small and/we have a lot of items. But we only had three items in total and the items she missed was a big throw blanket. How the heck do you miss that? Seriously, they need to pay attention to what they’re doing. Also another very annoying this that I’ve only seen here compared to other homesense’s is that the tag connected to the chandeliers were hung so low they hit me in the face. People who are 5’ are safe, but any taller and you’re constantly getting hit the on the head or in face if you’re turn around carelessly or get up from looking at something on a low shelf. They...

Visited the store today as we are redecorating our entire home in Boca and were looking for pieces but we will not be returning for anything.

Second what someone else said, staff needs some retraining. My mother (a Black woman) walked out the store in nears tears as I had walked out ahead of her to grab something next door while she checked out. 2 cashiers (White women) did everything possible to not take her (walk away, be on their phones) and the only person that would take my mom was another young woman of color. As soon as my mom go to that lady’s register, the other two that did everything possible to not take her, popped their head up and welcomed the person behind my mother in line. I mean seriously?

Have a feeling two of the 5 star reviews are the same person with two profiles as well to off set the bad review they have...

Nice clean and well organized, this store has many decor items and some furniture. I was impressed with their selection of lamp shades. I was pleased to see this because I've been looking to replace a couple shades that have yellowed with age. The big department stores all had disappointing lamp shade inventory. Homesense, however, had a nice selection with a few of them marked down with a decent discount. My bargain-hunting friends will enjoy finding deals here. The best deals are the ones marked with the red clearance price tags that are easy to spot. One improvement would be to have more cashiers to handle to customers paying for their purchases.
