We purchased a tent from Ben last fall in preparations for a pack trip Buffalo hunt in Utah. We have owned a couple of other wall tents in the past and had good luck with a few different styles, but this tent is hands down the best option if youāre packing in on horses. The pole systems in other tent is typically heavy and awkward to pack on a mule or horse. My new tent is very compact and is about 50 LBāS, and the poles break down and are easily put together in one bag wrong about 53 LBāS. Packing in and out is much easier with this set up. But the best thing about this set up in my opinion is the stove being in the center of the tent. You eliminate cold corners and I donāt do cold sleeping! We slept 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably, all on cots and still had room to spare. My nine year olds favorite thing about the trip was being able to wake up and make hot choc for everyone on the stove top. I have several groups pass by our setup and come check out the setup and all admired the layout and pack ability of this tent. Ben and co hit a homerun with this new style and ease of packing this on and off...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I just returned from our first cold-weather (single digits and snow) trip with our Nomad, and we were amazed at the quality of this tent. Three major aspects stood out to us.
First: Having the wood stove in the middle of the tent was a game-changer! No more roasting on one end of the tent and freezing on the other. The reasonably-sized stove heated the tent evenly and thoroughly. We would fill it up and shut it down when we went to bed and it would still have warm coals in the morning.
Second: The high quality of the zippers and sewing of the seams. We want to use this tent for many years, and it looks like it will hold up to heavy duty use.
Lastly: The high ceiling makes the interior feel super spacious. We used to hunker over while using our old wall tent, so it was super nice to be able to stand up and walk around without feeling claustrophobic (plus, the steep pitch seems to shed snow really well)!
I'd recommend this tent to anyone who camps in the mountains in the Fall, and it's an especially good option for folks who enjoy horse camping because the whole setup loads easily...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased the Nomad tent 7 months ago and have used it several times. I researched canvas tents prior to my purchase and chose Roamin Home Tents. I chose wisely and would make the same decision today. This is a high end, top quality product. The attention to details really makes it a pleasure to use. The two bags are easily handled by one person, setup is simple, thanks to the well written instructions. Having the stove positioned in the center of the tent works very well and evenly distributes the heat. My experiences using this tent have been 100% positive with no issues from set up to takedown. Thank you...
