27MAY2019. I have used this Peachtree City, GA location twice in the past for a phone repair and battery replacement. Previous two visits were excellent. I don't know what happened on this third visit but it's not the same. Rumor is that the ownership changed. I don't really know about that but I do know that I had a poor experience last go-round.
My iphone 6 was working with all apps and functions except for a "dead spot" on my screen. With my basic troubleshooting and neophyte knowledge of mobile phone dynamics, I figured the digitizer was faulty. Now remember, ALL functions of my phone were working before I took it in for repair except for the touchscreen problem area. When I picked up my phone after repair, my ear speaker did not work. I returned it the next day to the LifeLine repair store in Peachtree City. An hour later, I picked it up. The S7 Tech said the speaker was bad and he replaced it....no charge. Thank you. So before I left the store this time, I tested the phone on several functions. First, I tested the replaced speaker. Check good. Second, I tested the hands-free, voice activation feature, you know " call home", "text Frank", etc., and that feature did not work. Hmmm? I took it back into the store and talked with the S7Tech and asked what could cause this. He said the phone was old and if more work was needed on the phone, he would have to charge me. I asked, "But ALL of the features of my phone worked before his repair work, what could have happened?" He again tried to place fault on the age of my iphone 6. I then asked him for his experience to resolve the non-working feature and all he would suggest is a reboot of the phone. I tried this in the store but that did not 'fix" the new issue on my phone.
He offered no help, he was not apologetic for me having to return to the store for the first incompetent repair, and I felt like there was not going to be any good resolution with him so I thanked him and left the store.
There...I've said it. There are hundreds of mobile phone repair services to choose from. I will NOT choose LifeLine in PTC again.
UPDATE: 1JUN2019
After contacting the corporate office, my iPhone received the proper repair. A very professional representative from corporate LifeLine, Gabriel, contacted me about meeting him at the PTC location and repairing my iPhone 6. I am now 100% satisfied with the repairs made on my iPhone 6. Again, thank you Gabriel for...
Read moreI brought in a cell phone screen replacement and a power sub board replacement on a 4g tablet. When I got home I was rolling glue off of the front of the screen and the whole edge was oozing with it. It fell 24 inches and the new screen broke. A closer look later and I could see the screen wasn't flush with the casing and was sitting proud of it where it had hit the floor and broke. Terrible repair, seam full of adhesive which directly led to another broken screen.$160 or so in the toilet... The tablet? $45 evaluation later, was told it was bricked. Brought home, found two different boot tricks based on button combinations, 20 minute charge later, came to life. $216 wasted, total. Better off doing it and teaching yourself... Couldn't lose any more than taking it to these guys. UPDATED- You didn't "look into" anything, you read my review and responded, that's all. Looking into it would have required you talk to your tech and ask if there were any issues installing the screen. Or even "Did you try to charge the tablet?". I didn't ask for a warranty repair, why would I let you have a second chance to not do your job again? There was adhesive on the screen regardless of what process you claimed to have used to apply it. Had the screen been installed correctly and had it been flush with the body of the phone it would NOT have been able to hit anything at the edge to cause it to break. I didn't ask for a warranty repair and I don't plan to ask anything from you guys ever again. As to the tablet, no after the fact lie to cover up a failed diagnostic with that as well?...
Read moreugh. I called and asked if they could fix charging port on my Galaxy S5, Chris said yes, it will take about an hour and so I went it. He looked at it and said we need to order it, it'll be there in 7-10 days. In 7 days I hadn't heard from them, so I called and got not-Chris and he said they couldn't fix it. I said why didn't you call, and will you reverse the charge on my debit card. He said I had to come in to do that. Then I called to see what time they closed, and Chris says "we can fix your charging port, and the part is in (what a coincidence!) So I go in and Chris says well there are 4 different types of charging ports in the S5, they don't know if they got the right one, blah, blah. I said well why don't you check? He checked and it was the right one. (grr). So then Chris says "we can't fix it without breaking the screen and capacitor, and that together would cost $300 or more." I said well why didn't you tell me this in the first place? I can get a new S5 for less than that. He said he didn't know, that he had only been a tech in another's store, and never ordered or been a manager before, or been trained. It turns out the franchise owner is an absentee non-tech guy, and won't spend the money to give his employee/s the neceassary training. I asked if the owner was ever in - no- and if I wrote a review, would he read it, employee said probably not. Chris was very nice, apologetic/embarassed, but still . . (I don't think Liz works there anymore) Needless to say I will not be coming back here ever, for...
