Y'all, I love me a good steak. I actually debated with myself whether I wanted to eat at this Outback which was a ways off my path or wait until I got to the Golden Corral at exit 47.
Never have I been so glad to drive a few extra miles for lunch as I was this particular day!
The parking lot looked slam full as I pulled up, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was told there was room at the bar to sit. I took it and sat down. Mere moments later the bartender/server Chastity inquired as to my choice of drink. I said sweet tea out of habit, but then realized I was starting to get tired and needed some caffeine, so I changed it to a Coke.
As I was on a trip for business, I spent the next few minutes reviewing texts and emails I'd received while driving. Chastity delivered my beverage and, noting that I had yet to open the menu, offered to return shortly. I took a quick look inside even though I knew what I wanted. When she came back, I had decided.
I ordered the Victoria Filet, medium rare, with a baked potato all the way (but hold the chives). When asked about my second side, I told her that I didn't really want it and that she could have whatever she wanted. She commented that she would enjoy a cup of soup later as she headed to the back to turn in my order.
Shortly she brought me some of the bread and it was soft and hot, melting the butter grandly. I only ate a bite or two when she delivered the entree. It took me a couple of minutes to mix up my potato and I requested some extra sour cream. Before she made it back, I cut my first bite off the steak.
Pure. Taste bud. Bliss. This steak was juicy and perfectly cooked. I later learned that a gentleman by the name of Antonio was responsible for this culinary masterpiece and I say without hyperbole that he is a master at his trade!
What followed was the best meal I've had in a restaurant in quite some time. The potato was splendid, the bread was scrumptious, and the steak itself was absolutely perfect.
Before I finished up, the manager on duty, Chris, came out and I made it a point to tell him that he had one helluva crew at his store. I told him how impressed I was with my visit and that I would do everything in my power to visit this location in Peach Tree City, GA again.
So Antonio and Chastity, as soon as I am able, I'm bringing my family back so that my wife can experience the same level of awesomeness that I was lucky enough to get. ...
Read moreWish I could give zero stars. My husband and I stopped for lunch yesterday afternoon I ordered the Blooming Onion chicken sandwich and he ordered the prime rib sandwich. My chicken sandwich was the worst I have ever had. I'm over 50 and have eaten a lot of chicken sandwiches and could have gotten a better one from McDonald's or Chick FIL A. The chicken was so small I had to cut off half my bun to make it fit. My bun was not toasted, had a very tiny piece of lettuce. The tomato and couple of pickles were good. Half the chicken there was so thin the breading was over twice its size and the little chicken in more then galf of it was dry, crispy dry. For more than half the sandwich I basically had a tomato and pickle sandwich with sauce. When I finally got to the thicker part of the chicken it was as dry as sand. I could hardly swallow it. This thing was terrible. I should have sent it back as soon as I seen it, but I was starving and couldn't wait for it to be fixed. After I had we left my stomach hurt. Like I said the worst chicken sandwich of all time. Then let's get to my husband's prime rib sandwich. Again untoasted bread and the prime rib was very dry and tasted old. He ended up having a stomach ache after also. I will never eat there again. I was mad because I had so much going on that day and I didn't ask for a manager to let my voice be heard, but I noticed one time when my husband and I were complaining as we were eating the waiter was next to us and over heard our conversation. He never asked how the food was nor after he over heard us did he call a manager. I worked in the restaurant industry for years and know all parts of it. I know he should have asked us how the food was and he also should have informed the management that there was a problem. He was not a very good waiter anyway. Terrible experience and like I said I will never go...
Read moreSo I rarely comment or leave reviews, and try to leave positive ones when I see fit. However last night was an awful experience at Outback. We typically go to another location but decided to give this one a shot. We called an hour ahead as calling ahead was an option. We get there and are told it's going to a little wait which was fine. We were there to celebrate our sons birthday and outback was his request. Anyway we waited for about 40 mins when I finally decided to again approach the host and ask how long more the wait would be (all while watching smaller and larger parties being sat whom walked in after us), she then stated and pointed to a table they were setting up that they'd be ready for us in just a moment. Again I still was willing to give this a shot. About 5 mins later she seats a whole other family that was also waiting a bit. Says nothing to me while we stand there! I then gestured for their manager to come over in which I explain to him what was happening, now at about an hour of waiting at this point. He begins to look around and sees a family being ready to leave and proceeds to then clear that table for us. We were finally sat over an hour of waiting. Once sat our server tried to lighten the mood but did nothing to acknowledge Wyatt had taken place. We ordered right away as our kids at this point were fussing and hungry, we then proceeded to wait almost ANOTHER hour for our food which comes out warm at best! We had sides missing, it took awhile to get any refills, our sons bday ice cream came out while he was still eating his dinner. Over all the experience was extremely disappointing and they've definitely lost us...
