I am a caregiver to my parents and I work full time. I wanted a quick certification in Medical Billing and Coding. The way I see it, I am already certified because I am a Registered Medical Assistant with the American Medical Technologists out of Illinois. Everything I learned at Ashworth college was nothing new, and for the second time. I have been trying to change my career for about 3 years, and I am tired of trying to spell out in countless job applications what I feel I already understand about a position. All I want is a new career working from home. I picked up the Medical Billing and coding program. It costs about $1,000.00+ if you're looking for actual help with the online material. The school does not send you all of the books, which will walk you through their assignments easily. I ordered mine through Amazon. Yes, you do not use many chapters from the extra books you order, but they help. Mostly with SimChart, which you will never use in the real world (YouTube will help you with most of the assignments too). Everyone is using Epic. Why does Ashworth not train you on Epic? Who cares about SimChart? So anyway, I graduate within 6 months of signing up for the program. Honestly, I would have completed this course faster if I had extra spare time. I took the National Healthcareer Association exam and passed on the first try. Immediately I start applying for remote positions, thinking, "Finally, I won't have to explain to these yahoos to get my foot in the door." But you know what? In every job description, the NHA does not show up for the institutions that they are looking for you to be certified from. Did I know I was kind of going through a bootleg institution to obtain a fast certification? Yeah. I guess I just felt that I would get a certification from at least a credible institution other than the NHA. The fact that Ashworth is just Ashworth meant nothing to me. I just didn't know the NHA was so unknown. I have a Bachelor's degree on top of everything. My time is valuable. Ashworth and the National Healthcareer Association have wasted my time. If you cannot offer a condensed and lucrative certification in Medical Billing and Coding, then you should not offer this program or certification at all. It isn't recognized anywhere! Ashworth does not offer job placement assistance. I was working with "Coach Jamie," in the career services department. She was nice enough to help me with my resume, but she was straight-up going to list my high school as part of my education. I am 46 years old with a Bachelor's degree. Do not tell me that my high school needs to go on my resume. I am trusting her that my resume can be two pages long, because I think my resume needs it. But I am starting to second-guess the quality of my resume. I am just not getting hired! I called Ashworth back after 10 rejected resumes. I asked them if there was anyone that would help me with job placement. Ashworth does not help you at all. With such an unheard of certifying institution (NHA) as their partner in education, you would think they keep a list of companies on hand who actually know what the National Healthcareer Association is. Then they would be able to provide that list to students for easier transition into a new career. It would seem I am out over $1000.00. I wonder if I can get a refund? Until then, public humiliation will...
Read moreSo it has been a long journey for me and going to Ashworth I started back in in 2018 When I first started It was A good experience every time that I had called, I was able to get in contact with someone the wait was long, but I still was able to talk with someone. Now here it is 2025 if I have taken multiple programs at Ashworth. I am taking a program now where I am done I have completed all of my coursework and have also paid all my tuition fees and even extended fees. I had one last class where a teacher failed me because she felt like my work was not original. She asked me to rewrite my paper and so I respected the teacherâs wishes and rewrote my paper The teacher gave me 1% such an insult. I reached out and submitted a ticket and I have a long list of multiple tickets I started this ticket back in June Here it is July and Iâm still dealing with the same situation. I also emailed the teacher and she did not offer any resolution about grading. The assignment was done properly or giving me the extra two points. I need to get this diploma She instead told me to reach out to student services, but you are the teacher who is grading the paper who gave me the one percent I have reached out to multiple people. Let me tell you what they do if your number is registered with the school they put up a blocker and you cannot get through when you call. The number is going to tell you that the number is not available as I sat in a lawyerâs office today the lawyer made sure to record and document all this, so once the lawyer called from phone numbers that was not registered with the school as a students number you can get through, but you still have a very hard time getting someone on the phone. The school has become very unprofessional. I donât know what happened because like I said back in 2018 it started with a good experience for me. I am given this week to contact me and resolve this matter and for the teacher to do whatever she needs to do if that is to grade the paper or give me the extra points. I need to receive the diploma since I have paid full price and extended fees and completed all coursework. If not, Iâm looking to file a lawsuit against the school call the Better Business Bureau, and also report this school to the news stations. I will not sit back and remain quiet!! I do not have time or money to waste. Life is hard as it is. No one has money to throw away after I was done already had gotten started putting in to take a bachelor's program through them, but I have changed my mind and I do not recommend the school to anyone, especially if you are a person who needs to contact someone about your course work or documentation, or anything? You will not be able to get in touch with anyone The school gives you a runaround. This has been a big headache. Iâm gonna find another school to attend and suggest you do as well. And I also have been blocked from adding comments to my ticket which keeps stating awaiting a representative DO NOT GO TO...

Subject: Deep Dissatisfaction with Academic Advising Service
Name: Nathan Lewis II Program: Undergraduate Psychology Program Course: Introduction to Psychology 2
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent experiences I have had with the academic advising service at Ashworth College. As a dedicated student in the undergraduate psychology program, I have always strived to meet the academic requirements and complete my coursework on time. However, the support I received in completing my Introduction to Psychology 2 course has been exceedingly frustrating and disappointing.
Last week, I successfully completed all coursework for the Introduction to Psychology 2 course. In accordance with the usual procedures, I reached out to an academic advisor for assistance in closing out the course. Unfortunately, my experience with the advisor was far from satisfactory. The academic advisor, who was supposed to help me finalize my course, abruptly disconnected the chat without any explanation or resolution. This abrupt disconnection left me without the necessary support to complete the course closure process.
Following this incident, I attempted to seek assistance from three other representatives. Regrettably, none of these representatives were able to resolve the issue. Each interaction left me feeling increasingly frustrated and neglected as a student. Despite my repeated efforts to get help, the problem remains unresolved to this day.
As a student, I expect a certain level of professionalism, support, and dedication from the academic advising team. The inability of multiple representatives to assist me with a straightforward issue is unacceptable. It not only hampers my academic progress but also undermines my confidence in the support system provided by Ashworth College.
I urge the college administration to address this issue promptly and ensure that no other student has to face such challenges in the future. Effective and reliable academic advising is crucial for student success, and it is imperative that the institution takes immediate steps to improve this service.
I hope that this matter will be resolved swiftly, and I look forward to hearing back from the college with a concrete plan of action to address my concerns.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Nathan Lewis II Undergraduate Psychology...
